Private Christian school in Texas tried to cover up the sexual assault of a student.
I haven't been able to pin down if the school has a direct affiliation to any particular Christian denomination and their website isn't much help. But they certainly are big into Jebus.

Evangelical. They don't like the look of calling themselves that. So they leave it blank.

You mean white evangelical churches are actually self-aware enough to realize how toxic they are?

No, it's marketing to appeal to the broadest audience. That fire and brimstone shit don't sell.

Although the one service I attended had some pretty hot babes feeling the spirit.

Googling Joel Osteen and Ukraine merely returns links to suggestions that he travel there by people hoping he eats a bullet. But I'm sure you've got plenty of links at the ready to go, right?

So? A bunch of chefs have made it there.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that nobody who works for World Central Kitchen has a house as large as Osteen's. Feel free to prove me wrong.
Maybe you should just stop having kneejerk reactions to things and actually think before you respond. You'll notice that the tweet doesn't say that they aren't doing anything, only that the tweeter hasn't seen a notice of them doing anything.

    I'll bite:
    • Mega church in Minneapolis, MN:
    • The Assemblies of God Effort as a whole
    • Here is a very small denominations immediate effort, which I'm told is gearing up to be something bigger: https://opcdisasterresponse.org/support-for-our-missionaries-in-ukraine/ Also, sponsors of missionaries won't ask for big fanfare and applause. They'll just quietly up their giving.
That took less than three minutes, but the point is made. A megachurch, a large denomination, a small denomination - all helping everyone from refugees who have fled Ukraine to people still on the ground in Ukraine.PS: since this war has been called a "civil war" of the Orthodox Church, you'll find a lot of churches trying to keep things low key. More often than not, there will be efforts to be as unopen as possible about aid. It isn't a facemask, it is for actual safety.

Help for missionaries in Ukraine, a country where 71% of the population says that they're believers. That's a slightly higher number than the US. Why send missionaries to such a country?

Are they? Because your last one said that they were helping missionaries not folks in Ukraine.

Why? Sure, I can get why folks wouldn't want to give too many specifics as to precise locations, since they could be targeted by Russian forces, but just saying that you're sending aid to Ukraine shouldn't be something to hide. After all, organizations like the Red Cross, the Red Crescent, World Central Kitchen, and others (who do have prominent folks that often cite religion for why they do what they do) aren't keeping quiet about sending aid to Ukraine, even if they don't give specifics about where they are and what they're doing.
Not seeing why a Christian organization operating in a Christian nation being attacked by another Christian nation, has to be so secretive, when an organization founded by a Christian can openly post details of what they're doing.

I mean, the only difference I can see between World Central Kitchens and overtly Christian organizations claiming to help people is that WCK doesn't constantly advertise the fact that they were started by a Christian, though Jose Andres isn't the least bit ashamed of his faith. I don't care what he believes, I have a fuckton of respect for him because he actually goes out and does things to help people. To quote Pope Frankie:
Of course, if everything that happens is God's plan, then prayer is useless, because who are you to ask for a change to it? What are we, that we should think to stand before him, at whose rebuke the earth trembles, and before whom the rocks are thrown down? The very act of prayer should be seen as an affront to god in such circumstances. Not a god I care to have anything to do with. If that god can't stop wars, rape, and genocide being perpetrated in his name, or even a global pandemic that's killed at least 1 million people, WTF good is he? None that I can see. Because any god that requires kids to be killed or raped, and cities to be bombed, ethnic groups to be exterminated, and billions to be enslaved, in order that their plan can be fulfilled is in no way a god of compassion or love.

You wouldn't impregnate a woman and then force her to have an abortion against her will simply because this will somehow make your life better later on, so why should you worship a god who'd not only send his child to be murdered, but would also knowingly destroy most of his creation because they displeased him? Because that's what you do.

Is there an accounting of that money going where they say it's going?

Not saying I don't believe you, just saying it wouldn't be the first time a mega church had lied about money.

Never trust a charity that doesn't let you check their books.

And that's every single religious institution in the US.

But at least separation of church and state means they can't be political... LOL. Sorry, couldn't say that with a straight face.

    Time to tax the churches.

It would be a start, but they are still indoctrination centers that have become fully political. It's no longer enough.

Obviously they were letting the trans kids go to the bathroom and swim. They also probably had shelves full of books that were about GLBT families and people. They were also saying gay every day in the classroom. Because that is how you groo0m and indoctrinate children and the community so you can molest them. It has nothing to do with indoctrinating them into a book of lies about a nightmare god who will burn you in eternal hellfire for telling others how his representatives on earth do horrible things to you.

Right @Federal Farmer ? We all know you are truthful and honest.
