You can't start off with a headline about their being tapes unless you have the piss tape. BULLETIN: Lordy there are tapes
NYT reporter speaks to what’s in the video: If the filmmaker and/or his people had been with the campaign since September, then tRump and his people were likely so comfortable with the crew’s presence that they didn't pay them much mind and it’s possible that there’s damning video from inside the White House on 6 January. Good camera people learn how to hide in plain sight, even when they’re with a subject a short amount of time. Over a period of weeks/months? There’s no telling what they captured.
People forget as well what cameras can capture. I did some wedding shots for a friend a decade back, and a lot of the people asked me how I got the shots without them noticing. Well, I was another guest until I raised the SLR and snapped. And that's stills. The BBC has caught out Facebook/Meta today on upskirting groups. Cameras can be anywhere. If you've INVITED them, don't ever get comfortable unless you know there's no shady shit going on. I might give Trump benefit of the doubt that he was narcissistic enough to think he WASN'T discussing anything illegal, but his habits of hating notetakers goes against that. His narcissism DOES mean he loves to be on camera though, so possibly that outweighed his common sense here?
Lots of new subpoenas served on those involved in the fake elector plot: Including the Nevada GOP chairman....
Matt Gaetz wanted a pardon for any and all deeds he had ever done. Mo Brooks wanted pardons for every single member of congress.
I wish there were intelligent conservatives/libertarians/independents who discuss things in good faith who could explain how this many congresspeople seeking pardons isn't a huge red flag.
I'd say it's all pretty damming. I did notice on Youtube that Fox was covering the hearing today so maybe the pressure is on.
Steve Bannon is now condemning the Murdochs for "abandoning" Trump and going with DeSantis, so I'd say Trump's boat is taking on water fast.
Recent polling has shown that just as many Republicans think that a coordinated attack happened on Jan 6th as didn't, and nearly 60% of Americans at this point believe Trump committed one or more crimes. It does seem to be having an impact.
And of course the biggest hit yesterday: Trump telling the Deputy AG to 'Just say the election was corrupt. Leave the rest to me and the GOP congressmen.'
Could be Ron Johnson's evasions over passing the fake elector list. Guy has twisted enough on TV he'd likely perjure himself under oath.
Could be, but I doubt anybody would be surprised enough by it to warrant holding an unscheduled hearing. I'm leaning toward something coming out of the secret documentary.
Could it be that Oath Keeper Gruppenfuhrer Stewart Rhodes, who now feels betrayed that Trump didn't pardon him has agreed to flip and spill his guts publicly to the Committee.
It could be Mo Brooks, or whoever the guy was, who lost his bid for re-election after Trump decided to back his primary opponent and who said he was now willing to testify publicly if he were given the documents he'd be asked about and if it was done unedited.
