This isn't an outlier or a one-off. Mr. Free-Speech-For-All who's promised complete amnesty for all those banned before he took over is spending all his time banning left wing accounts that the reactionaries bitch about.
There's some satisfaction in watching dude light his newly bought toy on fire like the Hindenberg (or, ya know, any random Tesla) but even more so because once the reactionary assholes get what they want, they will have simply recreated Gab and they will be bored of telling each other how right they are but with no one left to troll.

And Boy-Genius will be left to wonder why no one wants to advertise on his hellsite and how he's going to get his tens-of-billions of dollars back.
But we'll need another site to play the important role worldwide that Twitter played (I'm hopeful for Bouzy's plan, but Post seems to be getting a lot of traction too) because despite all it's issues, a LOT of good was done in the world via Twitter and it would be a significant loss if there wasn't a site of this sort.

Also? If Apple/Google drop Twitter from the store dude is dead in the water. There's no rival phone company of similar scope that he can scoop up and he's destroying his reputation with any potential investors - which he'd need after what he's done to his own fortune. Worse, you cannot start from zero and get something up to scale in time to save Twitter (as if that would, which is a ludicrous notion to begin with because it's not the phone that matters but the store).

That's before we talk about whether they would burst into flames at random like a Tesla, or would be a frenzy of data theft (like a Tesla)
Man is the living embodiment of Dunning-Kruger

This is the nice part of the bonfire that I love. The fire is increasing. You can still see the light beige of the wood, but the black and red embers are slowly consuming it. There are pops and hissing from the gasses and sap. the chaos of the flames is streaking towards the sky in vertical waves licking away at the air. It is the work of billions of light weight comments full of fuel and air just igniting in a blaze of turbulent reds and yellows. The users are like the wood trying to survive the fire that is consuming them as they sit there helplessly being destroyed. They can do nothing as their world turns to chaos and destruction. They can only burn with it.

I hope the warm glow lasts until the new year. No quitting on us twittards. Keep on burning in your master's fire. Don't leave, you can't leave. We hear you as you pop and fizzle. We appreciate your fiery demise for our amusement.

I wonder what the charred remains are going to look like. I wonder how it will scar the psyches of the twits.

Elon is exchanging Heil Hitler codes (88) with anti-semites on the platform he owns now. They responded with the neo-Nazi 14, their numeric response for the 14 words. What are the 14 words? We must secure the existence of our people and a future for white children

The guy who's already made anti-semitic comments, and who's banning Andy Ngo's enemies also kisses the swastika?

So Twitter is absolutely tiny proportionally when you compare actual Twitter members to real life, red blooded human beings

He's lifting up his skirt to an even tinier minority on Twitter, the alt right derp folk (example: @Bill Carson ). Basically acting the fool and spending billions so he can have a small, insignificant minority of people laugh at his memes

In this process he's also alienating - and even in some cases attacking - very important advertisers and it certainly seems this might become a permanent problem for him and his ability to generate revenue

It makes me wonder like if I was a billionaire, would I go nuts like this because I could afford to? The whole thing while very, very cringeworthy is actually quite fascinating

Strong doubt that’s accurate for CA and TX just a year later. Maybe not WA either.

Okay let’s not ignore, in our haste to mock Musk, that the 30% tax on all digital goods purchases and subscriptions where Apple would be doing nothing to facilitate the transaction — if not for the fact that they require it to go through their payment system — is extortionate. They’re not a good guy here.

In 2020 Apple deleted Fortnite, which was literally paying them billions a year in IAP. They’d delete Twitter without blinking.

Fortnite also had more monthly players than Twitter has accounts (and a good percentage of Twitter accounts are inactive)

They could also gradually escalate, for example deranking in the App Store, disabling in Europe where Twitter is likely no longer GDPR compliant, or disabling Apple login

Very interesting. In the lower left corner is a Vajra Thunderbolt. It's a Tibetan Buddhist talisman that represents (very roughly) the concentration of a bearer's personal power. He probably claims to be an expert on Tibetan Buddhism, but I have to doubt that he's done anything but cherry pick stuff that he thinks justifies his rather weird world view. :chris:

Yeah. If late 90s Microsoft had gone a fraction of the way towards policies like Google and Apple have nowadays they probably would have got broken up.

Pretty incredible that after the verified accounts trainwreck and Musk publicly firing engineers that disagreed with him on Twitter, Musk is back to claiming to be this big defender of "free speech," and the mainstream media doesn't seem to be pushing back on that narrative at all. And by "incredible," i mean "infuriating."
