I really need to rewatch this one again because I think it reminded me of Odo joining the changings, but I think I might be thinking of another show I recently saw.

Well, I guess it wouldn’t be Star Trek without a Freaky Friday situation.

Kate Mulgrew showed more emotion in these last two episodes than she did all seven seasons of Voyager.

Both she and Brett Gray did a fantastic job in this one. I wonder how they'll deal with Dal's augment situation when he petitions to join Starfleet.

by the way, the Protostar is a sexy ship. The Dauntless looks like ass (and not in a good way).

I thought she did well. Just goes to show how she wasn’t given good direction during Voyager. Janeway is meant to be stiff.

I think it was UA that said the Protostar is very reminiscent of the beautiful T5 Star Cruiser in STO. (Which still needs a T6 update.) He's not wrong.

what is it? 29 different species' attributes? I don't think he's technically human anymore so not an augment but a unique hybrid life form. Really no different than Spock or B'lanna. Especially if none of those various alien traits have been enhanced beyond what would be considered normal.

The Starfleet relay station computer instructed the crew to contact command after scanning Dal, so I'm guessing there's more to his backstory than just being an especially augmented Augment.

Loved the reference to Janeway being a salamander.

Does anyone else think that this is a bit heavy on lore and dire themes to be wasting it under the "kid's show" category?

If it gets them wanting to know more about Trek, then I think it's served it's purpose.

Even a broken clock is right twice a a day

I can't lie, even as someone who's only interest in Trek ships currently is whether Mariner ends up having drunk sex with Boimler in next season of Lower Decks, this was an amazing battle scene. I disagree that it's being wasted just because it's a kid's show...it just means the live action side ought to step up it's game.

Trek is about 80% about the ships for me, just as it's 80% about the ghey for some of you.

So, like Dayton, it’s only the space battles that matter to you and the rest of the episode is just filler.

Nope, looks to be an animation issue - all Sovvies shown have Sovereign as the main nameplate and the 1701-E registry on the nacelles

Well, that was a nice way to end the season.

IMO, Prodigy probably ranks as one of the best first seasons of all the Trek series.

For whatever ridiculous reason, the advent of streaming services has actually made Voyager one of the most-watched Trek series.

(Clearly, there are a lot of viewers with mental health issues.)

But I understand why Paramount executives would want to draw from that well again, if it means more $$$.

I think it's because of two reasons:

    1) Voyager isn't nearly as serialized as DS9 and even ENT, and aged better than TNG, for all it's better writing

    2) Kate Mulgrew was starring in one of Netflix's biggest hits, which probably got a lot more eyes looking into some of her other work and the other big hit show she was a part of was a 1970s soap opera that isn't easily available.

Kyle's write up of VOY is still funny as fuck, but TBH after sitting through the last season of Picard, VOY and even ENT are far from the worst offerings in this franchise. Not even close.

There are now four Trek Series I will rave about: DS9, SNW, TOS and ... Prodigy.

And I did NOT see that coming.

All the rest fall into the lower tiers.

And while I won't bash Lower Decks - it's a fine example of it's genre... that's just not my kind of show.
