So… this kid is probably Picard’s & Crusher’s son? Do the producers know that British accents aren’t hereditary? Although, that would explain Picard’s French heritage & his British accent. I think the past has lowered my expectations for S3. I like these characters and I just want to see them together 1 more time.
I had the horrible thought that he could be Riker's kid, which would explain why Deanna has him sleeping on the metaphorical couch I know this won't be it, but imagine how many people this would piss off if it was
Now we know from DSC that artificial wombs are a thing (though it does make the "Have Kira carry the O'Briens' baby" plot daft, although Keiko was some way along when the transplant occurred) so Bev COULD have concealed a child from the TNG era - so could be Sex Ghost or Riker (from the ep when he banged her whilst hosting the Trill symbiont).
Rating this higher than the previous season premieres, but this show always starts on a medium-high note and shits the bed by the end.
If Ent-A still exists, that de-canonizes "Ashes Of Eden". Well, makes it another timeline, anyway. But were any of us hardcore fans of Shatner-verse anyway?
I liked "The Return". That one nailed it. The sequels had neat bits, but never quite hit that high again. IMHO.
I agree with all of this except I like the neo-constitution class. Agree that Seven should have her own show and I definitely thought it was dumb to have a pump action phaser. I don’t like the phasers in any of the live action modern shows. This goes all of the way back to JJ Trek.
Since when does "No Starfleet" mean "get active duty Starfleet captain Will Riker to help you divert a Starfleet vessel to take you directly to me?" Was Rios seriously the only private courier operating in the 25th century?
Seven still being a Ranger would have made perfect sense with this plot. Hell, I’m sure Quark would do the job, for the right price.
the saucer is pretty cool, but the secondary, hanger, and the struts to those oversized nacelles don't really work. I thought Disco did a pretty decent job of homaging the mid stage between The Cage and TOS phaser, along with a lot of the other aesthetics, while still bringing them into contemporary stylings.
I don't object to the NeoConstitution, but the Titan was the wrong ship for it. That wasn't a refit; it was a full rebuild with importing Riker's music. So what happened? Riker attend one too many Pakled Parties after Will Boimler left?
Oh, and retconning in the existence of a weirdly benign Borg virus during BOBW was stupid, and Picard apparently never reading the reports about what happened onboard the Enterprise while he was assimilated makes him look even stupider.
Some people think Worf is Starfleet Intelligence. The way that the conversation goes, it does come off sounding like Worf. Not a man of many words and very matter of fact. Plus they say that Raffi is a warrior.
Worf or Tuvok, since they promised the appearance of some other characters and Tuvok has done deep cover assignments before.
Was it a borg virus, or just some random virus they had to deal with on the day they were chasing Picard to Sector 001?
The Titan-A can't be a refit of the Titan...unless Riker's Titan was always Titan-A. The Enterprise A was not a refit of the Enterprise. It was a new ship. The refit in TMP didn't change Enterprise's registry number.
Another thing that I’ve been thinking about. When they sit down with Shaw they mention DS4 and DS11, essentially dancing around DS9. Everyone that has (supposedly) seen the whole season says it’s a tribute to all Trek. I wonder if they end up going to DS9 at some point. These same people say that there’s potential for a new show to be set up. Seven would be the perfect setup, but Nicole de Boer is at the perfect age to be a captain. Now I know Ezri isn’t exactly everyone’s favorite, but with Worf returning, could Worf be with Ezri? They were setting that up towards the end of DS9.
I would love to see Quark & Rom this season, but I’m thinking Geordi must have access to a shit ton of ships being the curator of the Starfleet Museum. Why didn’t they think of him?
Agreed on all points except the Picard intro. Absolutely love the blending of the TMP/TNG/FC themes. It's the best part of this season, so far.
