All the Youtubers that they gave early access too - that I've seen - are raving.

I suppose we'll soon find out.

I'm pretty sure that if humanity does become extinct, the primary reason will be because of the internet and social media.

And yes, this is all relevant to the topic at hand.

Eh, social media is still a fairly niche thing. We think it's omnipresent because we're a part of it, but it's really not.

If the human race goes extinct, it'll be for far more boring reasons mostly related to corporate greed. :clyde:

Honesty I can imagine her just being overlooked. Yesterday's Enterprise and All Good Things did bring her back (and I bet they would have for Parallels if it wouldn't have undermined the impact of her AGT appearance) but she was an actor who decided to quit TNG in it's first season and for the most part isn't thought of when people think of the Ent-D crew.

Excellent, concise review for the entire series.

Don’t forget the important character Sela that had a story line that went nowhere.

Sooooooooo many 'memberberries. This definitely pushed every nostalgia button I had, and maybe a few I didn't know I had. The interaction between Picard and Riker would have been worth the price of admission alone. I don't have much for the Titan, though its "Neo-Constitution" form factor definitely brought up some fond memories of the Enterprise A.

Some of the scenes were disjointed, and it kind of falls a little heavy on the "rule of cool" trope a bit much, but it's all in good fun, and I'm along for the ride. I kind of feel like this should have been how the entire Picard series started, but it is what it is, and I look forward to future episodes.

So I'm watching this right now... and Shaw's giving off some Dayton vibes

They retconned it in this episode that the two of them tried and failed to get together properly. It must have been after Nemesis, and there must have been some fucking involved. :clyde:
I'm going to guess "character assassination worse than they did to Picard in season 1." :async:

Geordi's running the fleet museum, we may get to see 1701-A and 2000.

And we heard the theme to Picard years earlier.

    Okay, thoughts:

-The TWOK ripoff vibe is strong so far.
-So far this feels like the pandering TNG victory lap I expected the series to be all along.
-I miss the old Picard intro. I wasn't even the biggest fan of it, but it differentiated the series from the others. Now it's just "member TNG and the movies?"
-It's too stupid of a coincidence for Picard to never have recycled his old oval comm badge from the Enterprise D between All Good Things and Generations, for it to still be working and connected to the Starfleet network after Picard resigned at least twice, for Crusher to send a transmission to it through the Starfleet network when she doesn't want Starfleet involved, and for Picard to just so happen to have it out of storage when she contacts him. Amazing it wasn't with so many of his other mementos in that Starfleet storage facility all along. He kept his old comm badge at the chateau but not that painting Data did for him? What a weirdo.
-Titan-A looks like ass. I'd hate to be stuck looking at the back of that thing while playing STO.
-Oooooh, Rikers family is mad at him. I wonder if going on a big adventure together will make Troi realize how much she loves him?
-You think the Galaxy class would be a more popular souvenir considering how many of them were in the Dominion War.
-The Titan's captain is an asshole, but he's not wrong to push back against Picard and Riker trying to play him like an idiot. He's no doubt read about what happened to Will Decker and John Harriman and knows hosting a former Enterprise captain is asking for trouble.
-The Titan's captain is an asshole to Seven, but I'm guessing a lot of people in the fleet are hostile to ex-Borg. The admiralty probably made sure to place her under someone that wouldn't give her too much leeway after Picard made it harder for them to keep her out of Starfleet entirely.
-Riker embarrassing young La Forge in front of the bridge crew when he's already got an inkling of what a dick her captain is made me cringe. No wonder his family doesn't want him around.
-Someone suggested this years enemies might be the parasites from Conspiracy, which would be.... okay, I guess?

I thought this first episode was kinda okay. It didn’t blow me away like season two’s first episode, which actually might be a good thing. It was nice seeing space dock again and we have proper looking ships with LCARS. Nice to see Deacon from 12 Monkeys as Shaw. I’m guessing we see more of him. Not the best episode, but not horrible either.

Also the enemy ships that attacked Crushers ship at the beginning of the episode were Elachi vessels from Star Trek: Online.

In the game, both the Elachi (originally bad guys from a first season episode of Enterprise) and the Conspiracy parasites turned out to be working for the Iconians. :chris:
