"Two Days And Two Nights". Okay, am I becoming an old fuddy-duddy, or are the Risa episodes trying to put a cute innocent face on sex tourism kinda creepy?
Given what we know of Roddenberry, it really makes you think. Also, casual transphobia because 2002, hooray!
I used to own Brent Spiner's album, it's actually pretty good. The rest of the TNG guys are his backup singers for one song.
Fun fact: Patrick Stewart got to decide how Data's name was pronounced, after Roddenberry made a new rule on the spot that the first actor to say a new word or name also got to decide how everyone else had to say it. https://gizmodo.com/patrick-stewart-might-be-responsible-for-how-we-all-say-1837242931
"The Douphin". Why is the shapeshifter nursemaid/guard chick so upset about the possibility of infection in sickbay? Their true form is energy, so virii wouldn't survive in them.
I mean... If a half digested sandwich in a shapeshifters stomach turns into energy along with them, I imagine it's theoretically possible for an infection to make the leap as well. Or possibly there's a concern that any damage sustained in one form carries over to the others.
"A Night In Sickbay". Archer comes off looking like an ass, but Phlox is fun. Phlox and Shran are the best characters on ENT.
I just don't get the love for it. I'm a big sci-fi fan and can ignore production value issues (Babylon 5 is one of my favourite shows) but Muppetscape is pure and total shite for so many reasons. I tried to watch it, giving it the benefit of the doubt because the fanboys drooled over it so much. I think I made it about two-and-a-half seasons before I had to give up. "It's creative!" was a constant refrain I heard. Yeah, so is the bowel movement I took this morning.
Oh! Speaking of Risa episodes! I always wondered why they don't just turn the re-integrate off, and use the transporter as a Tantalus Field/precision long range disintegration phaser. They have it. They call it "transporter code 14" and they use it to destroy the Tox Utat in "Captain's Holiday". They never use it again though. But it's there in canon to play with.
