I didn't say it was, but those two trilogies are the most successful trilogies in film history other than the Dollars trilogy. I'm not talking about financial success, I'm talking in terms of writing and narrative. To compare "The Flash" to those two trilogies is a big deal and not something I think this movie can live up to.

Ugh. I like Krypto, but for kids and cartoons, it's going to be hard to pull it off in live action. It looks to me like Gunn is going for a Superman For All Seasons type of movie.

I could see any one of them in the roles.
Rachel Brosnan however looks perfectly like 80's/90's comic book Lois.

I could see Hoult pulling off a Clark Kent switch to Superman like Reeves where he’s all slumped over as Kent and straightens up as Superman. Cavil didn’t really do that.

Who here's planning to go see "THE FLASH" in the movie theater tomorrow or over the weekend?

I'm planning to see it tomorrow.

I'll post my non-spoiler review of it in this here thread.

Well folks , I saw "THE FLASH" yesterday afternoon & found it to be a VERY EXCITING FUN ADVENTUROUS ROMP. Later on , after seeing the flick I saw ALOT of negative reviews of it popping up in a Google search. I guess that means FLASH is one of those movies that people will either LOVE or HATE , & probably with not much middle ground. I thought FLASH was AWESOME. I have to admit , DC's The Flash , along with Marvel's Thor & the Guardians of the Galaxy , are comic book characters I had very little to NO knowledge of before seeing these movies.

Do I recommend others to go see "THE FLASH" in the movie theater? Sure , WHY NOT?

Nope, my bad, some are in there, some aren't.

But!! Muschietti say he had virtually everybody, but it made the movie 3-4 hours long, so he had to cut it down.

    First, a non-spoiler comment:
(assuming everyone already knows about the one mentioned here)

Gotta say, kudos are warranted for Christina Hodson and Joby Harold for their script for The Flash. Let me explain why I say that.
While there were some bits intended for humor that, IMO, didn't land (and some did) when the film was trying to be serious, basically all of that DID land well and that in itself impressed me but it's not the point of this compliment.
You know how, so often, you're watching a perfectly fine action movie but there's some kind of glaring plot hole that takes you out of it? It's kind of common to the genre, some necessary convenience that makes the story work overall but doesn't exactly add up.
So as I'm watching The Flash I'm realizing something about the two different Bruces that looks like a big plot hole, and I'm already imagining the comments I'm going to make about this glaring flaw. But then, they literally explained on screen how that happened. It may seem like a basic screenwriting skill to tie something like this up but I can't remember the last time I sat in a theater and was just mega-impressed that the writers took the effort necessary to basically say "I know what you're thinking but we already thought of that."
There were other, smaller, moments where a little dialogue very clearly and neatly stitched a point together.

    Well done, folks. I'm impressed.

Overall I went in expected a messy kinda ordinary movie given all the chaos with Warner/DC off screen and with Miller, I took as a given it would be...sloppy...due to all the changes. it's not. As I said earlier the serious drama bits all delivered just the emotional impact they were trying for. Some of the set pieces are a bit overlong (feels like the baby shower thing could have been done in half the time) but as I'm watching the "Justice League" opening segment, I'm thinking "I could do for a few movies with THIS Batman" and then when we get to Keaton and the various action pieces he's in going through the "prison" I thought the same thing, "This is a Batman I'd like to see more of"

As an aside there was some dumb Twitter poll about ranking the Batmen and it occurs to me - there are bad Batman movies, but there are no bad Batmans in any of the movies. The only bad Bruce Wayne I can think of is the miscast in Titans. And he didn't really appear as Batman.

Anyway, this was not the sort of forced humor they got Weadon to add to Justice League, it's mostly organic, but some of it lands better than others, it's really the only flaw in the script.

Is it a classic? Nah. But it's above average, I've certainly seen superhero films I enjoyed a good deal less.

    Seen "The Flash".
    Loved it.
For nostalgia multiverse movies, I put it behind "No Way Home" and ahead of "Multiverse Of Madness".
For overall DCEU, ahead of Shazam, behind Wonder Woman.
