    Fair enough.

The Bucha Massacre. Huh. Well, good thing you are here to tell us the term 'genocide' is being bandied about irresponsibly.

I get that English and French are the two official languages of NATO (Ugh. Two official languages is bad enough but you the two you pick are English and French?!?! Who does that?!?!?) so unless they are the same we have to say everything twice but why the fuck is July done as VII and not just 7?!?!

Like I know the French are dumb and can’t count past 69 (nice) but they do at least still use Arabic numerals.

Without knowing anything about the actual reasons why, using latin numerals for the month does at least ensure you won't get confusion from people trying to read the date in a broken USAian way.

Hey, at least the Belgians can count to 79, and start again at 90. And the Swiss up to 99.
Wait, none of them make it past 39. Nevermind :(

While I believe this likely, the only source for this so far is Ukrainian. I'll be curious if we get any independent confirmation of this

I’m not a military expert by any stretch of the imagination but this is supposedly an Abrams tank in Ukraine. It looks like an Abrams to me but I still say some of the differences between a mobile howitzer and a tank seem pretty superficial, so it might not be that particular boomy thing, and it might not be in Ukraine, but if it is, does that mean shit’s about to get real?

Because Abrams tanks just fucking wiped out the Soviet tanks Saddam had. I know that the Ukrainians will be getting the detuned versions of the Abrams, but it’s not like Russia’s got a lot of their top of the line tanks left.

We aren’t sending them until the fall. And I doubt they would be desert colored. If I had to guess this was taken at a training center in Europe or the US.

Yeah, but who else has them that might be able to send them sooner? I know we sold Israel some, don’t know if they’d be willing to part with any though.

Ah, my bad. It seems that it was the Bradley that we sold the Israelis, though just about everyone else in the Mid-East that we sell weapons to got the Abrams, so that raises a few questions, I think. (Especially since the Israelis modified the shit out of the Bradleys once they got them because of the various design flaws.) There's also, apparently, a nearly $500 million dollars worth of US equipment that we've pre-positioned in Israel, what this equipment is, is classified, so we don't really know, but I think that it's safe to say that it's stuff you'd want handy when the Shit Really Hits the Fan.

Israel has never been a user of Bradley Fighting Vehicles. They acquired at least one for evaluation but developed their own heavily armored (based on tank chassis) troop carriers instead.

Same with Abrams. The last US tanks Israel used were M48s and M60/M60A1s. Once they developed the Merkava they had no need for new foreign-made tanks.

I know we sold a bunch of Bradley’s to them, as there was a huge controversy over the fact that as soon as they got them, the Israelis started modifying them to fix design issues that the US military wanted, but were denied by higher ups.
