I mean... It's Lindsay Graham. I bet he thinks the solution to Will Smith's marital troubles is also to bomb Iran. He's not exactly an idea guy.
"The Gaza Palestinians have decided they’re willing to pay any price for a moment of freedom." What a charming euphemism for the events of the past weekend. The author makes it sound like "The Gaza Palestinians" snuck into town to get ice cream. Also, I thought Hamas committed the attacks, not "the Gaza Palestinians," and conflating the two was a bad thing?
I don’t know if there will ever be a permanent fix for how messed up the Middle East is. Best we can hope for are temporary periods of calm. People have been constantly fighting over this land, conquering it and re-conquering since literally the beginning of human history. It is at the crossroads of three major continents, countless civilizations and the origin of all the major Abrahamic religions. Mix that up with colonialism, religious extremism, ethno-nationalism, a bunch of neighboring countries with their own agendas and it is just a never ending cycle of death and destruction.
I want to make my position clear. What Bibi has done to the West bank and the Gaza strip is indefensible, but what Hamas did is also indefensible. I don't take a side in this. I have people I know on both sides and it's a really shitty situation. I don't envy any president, but from my perspective, Biden is looking weak. I'm telling you this @Ancalagon as a warning. Take it for what you will. I take no side.
The Palestinians literally stated that they saw violence as the only recourse after Trump's 'Peace Plan.' Go back up on the thread. It's right there. But Biden looks weak. This is why no one takes you seriously. You make an emotional decision based on your preconceived biases and ignore any fact that contradicts your narrative.
You really are strangely determined to get a lot of mileage out of my pointing out to you that not everyone you dislike is a fascist, aren't you? Doubly strange given your increasingly regular apologism for mass murder. If you think that temperatures being higher in Gaza is some sort of get-out that disapplies basic humanitarian laws, then I need to point out to you that cholera and dystentry don't care. Children still need to eat (they have had no rations in a week a things stand) and hospitals still need power to treat the many casualties arriving. But you know this. And I see that the Israelis have now made restoring these things to Gaza's population conditional on hostage releases. Depraved.
Europe also didn't have the disadvantage of going through those growing pains in the modern world. Imagine how the various wars would have been if you'd had more technologically, socially and industrially advanced societies, all with vested interests and the capability to assist and transfer material in short time frames, around the world? We'd probably have to park a zero after the '30' in thirty years war.
Perhaps, but also rational as it places the power to restore those things into the gift of Hamas. They should really open humanitarian corridors at the same time though, as no doubt the Israelis know Hamas don't give a toss about the Gazans in general, as will the Gazans who don't support Hamas.
All of those reports and the individuals quoted are referencing the testimony of a single guy, David Ben Zion - the only one on record as saying that he has actually seen this. Want to check who he is and then confirm that you consider him a credible source? The IDF itself originally refused to back him up, saying that they had "no confirmation". Only now - after the story was picked up and spread by the western media - are they doing so, citing his testimony as sufficient. But they're saying that they will not provide further information and will not investigate further. It's just not credible, but it's being given enormous publicity in western media and political establishments in order to justify the rampage currently underway in Gaza. None other than Joe Biden decided to claim that he'd seen pictures of it, something that the White House had to row back.
Not true. This was already posted: Yossi Landau, the head of operations for the southern region of Zaka, Israel's volunteer civilian emergency response organization, told CBS News he saw with his own eyes children and babies who had been beheaded. "I saw a lot more that cannot be described for now, because it's very hard to describe," he said, speaking of parents and children found with their hands bound and clear signs of torture. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/israel...attack-kibbutz-kfar-aza-first-responders-say/ The reporter who first was on the scene with the report is pretty outraged that people are saying it's not true. The TV news correspondent whose description of decapitated infants and other atrocities from the Hamas attack on southern Israel went instantly viral pushed back Wednesday against questions around her reporting, saying she witnessed the atrocities “with my own eyes” and calling the reflexive doubt “sickening.” ... “I witnessed some of those scenes with my own eyes as we were walking through this community,” she said, “that may be a quarter of a mile from the Gaza border, the atrocities that were still left behind, children, cribs, baby cribs overturned on their side, splattered with blood. Horrible, horrible images.” https://www.thewrap.com/journalist-...-beheadings-decapitated-babies-witness-video/
Do you know what "depraved" means? Do you seriously think it's "corrupt and evil" for Israel to try getting their people back from Hamas by offering to restore necessities that Hamas apparently never bothered to stockpile ahead of the war they started, rather than resorting to a bloody ground assault? Oh, but you're not an anti-Semite.
Gaza is occupied territory, essentially a very large concentration camp. Israel literally rations the calories that the people living there get access to live on. The attempt to starve all 2 million of them (and then blame them for not stockpiling their rations!) is corrupt, evil, depraved. Pick any adjective you like, and apply it to yourself as well if you support this. As for the "anti-Semitic" slur, that's just one of a number of rejoinders designed to make criticism of Israeli actions impossible. See also "but Hamas use human shields". It means they can do anything they like and can't be criticised for it. The very fact that you introduce ethnicity into the debate at all says more about you. But there are lots of Israeli people and Jewish people who oppose these abominations.
Hamas apparently had no problems sneaking lots of things into Gaza for their attack, yet they seem to have brought in nothing to help the people of Gaza weather the inevitable retaliation. Obviously the jooooooos are to blame for this.
https://amp.theguardian.com/world/2...-israel-to-resume-talks-on-two-state-solution I don't see in the article where they're demanding Hamas even consider the two state solution. It's almost like they know they're doing a good cop/bad cop routine.
While we're talking about depravity, let's get these out there. Threats to destroy all buildings in Gaza and make it a 'city of tents'. Permission given to the Red Crescent to enter - only to be targetted and murdered.
It is true, in respect of those. Have you checked out David Ben Zion? Is he credible? Did you notice that the IDF again have rowed back on this today? You have one report which doesn't quote the guy who is supposed to be the witness about the thing being claimed, and about whom there is no other report online. The other is a hack working for i24 (lol) who subsequently posted this, which is basically an admission that she was lying about being an eye-witness. How is she still in a job?
I gave them a junk email so I could read it, it's basically "apartheid apartheid we deserve this apartheid we brought this on ourselves apartheid it's all our fault apartheid apartheid" And I get that apartheid is bad, I'm not a fan of it, but there's no Palestinian Nelson Mandela waiting in the wings to prevent a genocide if Israeli apartheid ends tomorrow. Does Ricky care? Nah.
Rose Twitter has truly wonderful takes. https://x.com/connecticutdsa/status/1710977718798397584 There’s even fan art (retweeted by the above) https://x.com/itsbedtime_/status/1710720675239887112
"What about those Palestinians who are in hospital on life support & babies in incubators that will have to be turned off because Israelis have cut the power to Gaza?" Ex Israeli PM Naftali Bennett: ""Are you seriously asking me about Palestinian civilians? Whats wrong with you?"
That is absolutely not an admission that her earlier report was mistaken. You have to be incredibly biased to read it that way. So said she directly saw young children decapitated, and that there were reports of 40 babies being killed. If your claim is that it was 39 babies killed instead of 40 so that makes her a liar, you are intentionally misrepresenting the truth. If it's 27 babies, it's still largely a true statement. If your claim is that there no decapitations, I've put forward several people who say they were eye witnesses to decapitations, including those that stated they saw children decapitated. We also know there were decapitations at other places - and that Muslims like decapitation as a method of execution, becuase it's explicitly stated in the Qu'ran as a method for killing non-believers.
A Democratic Congressman Shri Thanedar has left the Democratic Socialists of America over their rally that was filled with genocidal messages of support for Hamas in Times Square. This is the same rally that Alexandria Ocasio Cortez called out for 'bigotry and unbelievable callousness' in wake of the terrorist attack in Israel. https://www.forbes.com/sites/mollyb...ian-rally-after-hamas-attack/?sh=31594a4f1621
