Negotiations are ongoing. As usual when @Demiurge posts an article, you have to actually read it rather than taking his word for what's in it.

I mean, essentially it boils down to Hamas wanting to wring as many concessions out of Israel as it can, i.e. thousands of prisoners in exchange for 100. This one is on Hamas, they could negotiate at least a temporary ceasefire for their citizens' sake...but they won't. And we all know why.

And yet the people crying "Permanent Ceasefire NOW!!!" have fuck all to say about Hamas rejecting a ceasefire, and even less to say about polls showing Palestinians support Hamas as Hamas stands in the way of a ceasefire. Because "ceasefire" is nothing but code for "Israel stops fighting back."

"From the river to the sea" isn't going to happen peacefully or without the loss of millions of lives. Hamas knows that and is perfectly willing to let Palestinians die while Israel gives the organization its best recruiting campaign ever. They want war. They want violence.

Israel should end or drastically scale back its campaign now for purely humanitarian reasons, but it makes sense to do so on a practical level. Hamas is not cowed. Israel should pull out, beef up security at the borders, and take out Hamas leadership with targeted assassinations.

Hamas can't be destroyed, only contained. Israel is fighting a hopeless war.

The stated Hamas position is that they aren't interested in anything short of a permanent ceasefire.

But they should release their prisoners immediately, without conditions. Using them as leverage for a trade is repugnant.

It is also repugnant that Israel is using the entry of aid as a bargaining chip.

This is batshit insane, and I really wish 'experts' would stop conflating their own personal agenda with objective reality.

Of course this isn't one of the most destructive wars in history. A two second glance at any casualty list would verify that.

This isn't even one of the most destructive among the wars going on in this region NOW. But the others are Muslims killing Muslims, and no one cares about those. It's only Jews killing Muslims, because that upsets the Arab supremacist viewpoint.

It's hyperbole that gets clicks, and serves a specific political agenda. So it's broadcast and amplified.

If Hamas is still holding IDF soldiers and treating them properly as prisoners of war, then I'm not too against them using to trade for their own guys. That's just war. It's doing it with the civilians that bothers me.

Capturing enemy soldiers and holding them to trade for your own captured soldiers instead of just killing them isn't a war thing?

Today IDF soldiers shot pregnant women on their way to the hospital and then ran over them with bulldozers.

One day, when it's safe, when there's no personal downside to calling a thing what it is, when it's too late to hold anyone accountable, everyone will have always been against this.

It is a bit hard to get good footage when journalists are a prime IDF target. This is not taking place in Isreal where technology and electricity are abundant. Certain things are hard to get when you are killing off every method of getting them.

Maybe when you are not aware everyone is not walking around with the latest Iphone and people do not have a way to charge them you might be at a point where you need to check your perspective. You also might want to check your perspective when there is no doubt the the only safe people filming are the IDF who have also released a shitton of truly horrible gore videos celebrating their defiling of palestinians.

If you want good pictures of military abuse of people get on some of these IDF sites. I have seen some from places like Syria and Ukraine, and these IDF soldiers are fucking ghouls.

Sorry I do not have too many links for you, but there are few thuings in this world I find to be absolute mind poison and warzone abuse videos are some of the most toxic horrors out there. Sometimes I can be here for those who do not want to go down the rabbit holes, but the pro-Isreal people are less likely to admit to evidence than FF, and worse yet there are a few of you who I am pretty sure would get off on what I have seen. I am not going down that toxic hole to be ignored or to feed a ghoul's gore porn love.
