Whatever his politics, he's not wrong. If you look at some of the photos in the article, it's downright strange that Paramount would use Spock instead of Kirk in a montage of Trek captains.

I mean, for fuck's sakes, they included Archer but not Kirk?

That part is weird, but doesn't make me paranoid.

Can't be that Kirk is "problematic" Sisko murdered to draw the Romulans into the Dominion War, and Janeway killed Tuvix.

Whether Shatner likes it or not, Spock is a more iconic representative of TOS than Kirk.
