Okay, hear me out. Right after Roddy McDowell says, "I am not the one facing destruction here..." instead of Mr. Roarke saying, "We both know the rules" we get Khan saying, "You didn't expect to find me here. You thought that this was Ceti Alpha Six..."
Shatner thinks he's being "erased" from Trek. He doesn't use the word "woke" or "woke mob" or "wokies" but you know the Youtube CHUDs will. Yeah, TOS isn't on H&I and Paramount+, and they aren't selling the TOS blu-rays, and no one knows who Kirk is. Well, even believing the conspiracy, he's shruggy about it. He's like "whatever". Then why fuckin' bring it up? https://trekmovie.com/2024/01/10/wi...r-trek-accuses-paramount-of-erasing-his-kirk/
Whatever his politics, he's not wrong. If you look at some of the photos in the article, it's downright strange that Paramount would use Spock instead of Kirk in a montage of Trek captains. I mean, for fuck's sakes, they included Archer but not Kirk?
That part is weird, but doesn't make me paranoid. I would like to know the logic behind it. Can't be that Kirk is "problematic" Sisko murdered to draw the Romulans into the Dominion War, and Janeway killed Tuvix.
I would say its incompetence more than anything nefarious but who knows. Certainly the overwhelming majority of posts on social media seem to have the same reaction as Shatner. Either way, Paramount+ can suck my dick.
It's all about diversity, you can't have a fifth old white men in a promotion. As for Archer, it's a reminder that Bakula was on NCIS, go see NCIS, you old fuckers. It looks like the Star Trek Day promotion is all about promoting the shows that were current at the time.
I mean ... this is the guy who got so personally affronted by Season 1 of TNG saying that Tryla Scott had ranked up to captain faster than anyone else in Starfleet history that he had to publish a novel establishing that she didn't actually earn those promotions, it was aliens. Dude's got a bit of a bug up his butt, and has tied his own ego to Kirk's fictional exploits in an emotionally unhealthy way.
Honestly? Yeah. The fan girls that boosted TOS into popularity in the 60s were all about Spock and the Kirk/Spock friendship they leaned into was to boost Kirk's popularity.
So the prime timeline then? So before Enterprise? Starfleet existed in Enterprise. Either the writer is dumb or once again Abrams can’t keep up with continuity that he created.
Obviously the Kelvin timeline had in fact diverged from the prime timeline long before Abrams tried to make us believe that prime Spock could fail so massively. What could happen so long before but have such disastrous effects? The answer is, unsurprisingly, 2016 AD.
He creeped on Seven the whole time and showed up on B’Lana’s monitor as she was getting out of the shower and creeped on Tess who was three years old at the time.
