Interesting that you think that he might be a viable candidate as an independent, but not as the candidate for the third largest political party in the US. Like, the man's charisma is enough that he could be considered a potential winner on his own (despite competing in a system designed to favor political parties), but not enough to boost the third-largest political party along with him.

If he were to run on the LP ticket, he'd almost certainly finish better than any previous LP candidate has done. If he managed to get just 5% of the popular vote, the 2028 LP Presidential candidate would qualify for Federal matching funds. The LP would also qualify for matching funds when it came to the primary campaigns. Both of these things would increase the likelihood of the LP being a serious player in US politics. That sounds like a good thing to me.

From what I can tell Ahnuld did his level best to be a good governor and his work to end gerrymandering shows he understands what representative democracy is really all about. Would I vote for him over Biden? I doubt it, but I wouldn't lose any sleep over the possibility of our country turning fascist.
