That's unfair, there was definitely action the first time. The reporter getting murdered counts as "action," right?
Americans are more law abiding when it comes to tax laws than the rest of the world? The leakers were biased in favor of Americans and covered up their machinations? The list was (despite it's vast amount of data) incomplete and there's much more out there? Or is there another explanation?
Americans have better dirty lawyers. And two states are specifically called out as operating tax havens just as nefarious as the Cayman Islands - South Dakota and Delaware. It could be a CIA plot, and honestly, if so, good. No one seriously believes that there aren't US entities involved in this. Getting some names and data is better than none. Note that none of what is being reported on appears to be illegal. Instead it calls attention to the fact better international laws and standards need to be put in place.
Or perhaps American rich folk don't need to dodge tax as much because the GOP will keep it as low as humanly possible for them just for a chance to gargle their cocks for five minutes?
Just like with medical billing, the "legality" or "what this covers" is wholly dependent on entering the correct code on the correct forms. Have you tried to complete a W-8BEN-E recently?
I haven't complained. But I do think it probably says something about the origin of the leaks. Fuck these parasites, regardless of nationality.
Two brothers plead guilty to murdering Daphe Caruna Galiza, who was the reporter who broke the story.
