For any dem or independent who would have been against swift endorsing a candidate because they are contrarian to celebrity endorsements, he just pushed her into endorsing Harris to correct the record. Sure his people will say she should not be endorsing a candidate directly, which she hasn't really come out to do it. Now she has a reason to correct the lie and make sure everyone knows who she endorses. She cannot just sit back and say register to vote which she was doing. Now she has to give her opinion because he stole it from her.

Al Gore had a riff in 1992 that started with his convention speech where he'd go "What time is it?" and the crowd would respond "It's time for them to go." It wasn't explicitly future-focused, but it fit with the Clinton/Gore '92 campaign's overall future-focused vibe.

Here is the problem with whining about the conflict like using weird and couch fucker. We all know a big part of the dem party are little complicit weasels who enjoy letting others get beaten up while they hide. The problem with the dems is that while the complicit hide from conflict and hate on those who fight back because they do not want to make trhe bigots and bullies mad, the rest of us are getting our asses kicked while the moderates sit all safe in the boat hoping it does not rock.

The reality becomes the complicit moderates will vote for the dems in this election because Trump is already insulting people and causing conflict. He is dangerous and will kick them out of their boat to take it for himself. Don't listen to the moderates because they will vote for Kamala anyway. It is not like there is a Mittens Romnifeller or McCain on the other side. Insult away and get the fighters onto your side rather than telling them they are not wanted.

Start fighting and attract the fighters because the moderate cowards take what they are given. They will vote for Kamala and Walz because they have no choice. That will also go a long way in the world when he have such horrible wars going on. Maybe sassy black lady can get both Russia and Israel/Palestine/Islam/Christian/terrorism. Kqamala can bring the present world leaders a respectable partner in NATO and Asian arenas being so closely related to India.

I'm not sure I believe that Trump knows about the KKK's history in Howell. Even a lot of people in southeast Michigan aren't aware of it, and Trump is not exactly known for his knowledge of history or his intellectual curiosity.

But I would bet that SOMEBODY in his inner circle knows -- and, yes, knew exactly what they were doing.

Meh. Sure, candidates spend more time and money there, but what does that really translate to? Maybe it's an advantage for the TV stations that get the ad buys, but what else does it mean? I can't think of any areas where the issues of importance to a particular state got disproportionate attention from Congress or a presidential administration because they were a swing state (as contrasted with, say, the years when every senator with presidential ambitions had to get themselves on record as being pro-ethanol because of the Iowa caucuses).

However, Wyoming's outsized representation means that the party its voters favor is consistently more likely to hold the White House or the Senate than its vote share would otherwise indicate. That's a concrete advantage, not how many times a presidential candidate gives a speech in an airport hangar.

I did hear some clips on the radio today, and broke my usual policy of not subjecting myself to the sound of his voice because what I heard was so striking. Not because of his lies — those were pretty much from his standard repertoire, if a little bit heavier on the "Blacks from the ghetto are coming to murder June Cleaver on her way to the grocery store" than usual — but because of the way he sounded.
