No, completely wrong. There is but one point, with a secondary corollary. The point, and the only one that matters, is that I liked it. I do derive certain pleasure from the fact that a few dipshits such as yourself do not, but mainly, the only criteria is whether it suits my needs for Star Trek, which it does.

In which case, you apparently have no idea what the word 'objectively' means.

I am the determinant of objective truth. Duh.

    That's utter hogwash, objectively speaking.

I thought Ferengis were the Jews of Star Trek.

    This is a put-on.

If Coulter had said any such thing, it would be headline news.

I suspected as much. But I never know what conservatives pundits say unless outraged liberals tell me :)

And I never know what any Talking Head on either side says until I read it on WF.

Nah, you're just a hypocrite, transparently so. :diacanu: I expect nothing less from someone who continually lies about gun control and who defends government corruption as long as Democrats are running the government.

The sequel has maybe one or two highlights you can probably find on YouTube, the third is watchable-to-decent.

    Prequel story #1.
60's-70's Trekkers wrote a mountain of letters to get TOS its second season, and another mountain of letters to get it its 3rd season, and another mountain of letters to bring it back as Phase II, which morphed into TMP. And then it didn't matter that TMP was boring, they all went out and watched it 10-20 times to jack up its box-office, and that finally got them TWOK and home free.

    Prequel story #2.
The creators of Aqua Teen Hunger Force got it on the air by just flat out lying that it was about the ATHF being a detective agency, then they scrapped that right after the pilot, and had it be the sitcom it really was.
Fans loved it, and the numbers were good, so the suits forgave the lie.

JJ Trek exists, because 20's Trekkies aren't like 60's-70's Trekkies.
When the fanbase is too spoiled, you have to pull an ATHF.
JJ-Trek gets us to Disco, gets us to SNW and LD.
The transition was just a little slower than the pilot episode of ATHF.

If you wanna speed up the time table, write some fucking letters, and eat some shit sandwiches like a good little Kamikaze.
Fanatics put to the right purpose get things done.

It mattered that the suits understood that TMP was boring and they would probably lose the audience if they maintained course, or they probably would have let Roddenberry make TMP II: Look, It's Another Omega Glory Planet But We'll Take Thirty Minutes To Even Get There.
