The answer is that the Texas Rangers would forcibly remove those attempting to create such a state since it would be a pure act of aggression with by individuals with no historical claim at all to the area. There is no analogous situation in Israel.

Says you. The Mexicans, they say otherwise.

So flash forward ten years, all the White Texans are living in camps, while Mexicans live in their old houses, drive their old cars, and wear their old clothes. The Mexicans say that's all they want, and they're not going to hurt anyone as long as they're left alone.

Would America really just walk away?

Your ten years forward is bogus. The Mexicans would have been evicted/killed as soon as that act of war occurred.

    Adorable.

Things which would've never sprang into existence if Israel's towlie neighbors had peacefully lived alongside the Jews instead of constantly trying to push them into the sea.

I looked it up. Apparently, Mexico used to claim Texas.

It's not impossible that they might want it back one day.

And again, your analogy is bogus, since there is no parallel in Israel.

I'm sure that's what the Palestinians thought about the Jews. :bergman:

So... give up Texas for peace, or fight back by any means necessary?

Yes, Texas and several other Mexican states seceded quite successfully when the Mexican gov't suspended the Mexican Constitution, thereby delegitimizing itself.

Do you think it neighborly for Israel to be attacked by damn near the entire middle east the day after they became a nation? Might that have something to do with the current state of relations in the region?

Rationalize this: The Palestinians do not recognize Israel's right to exist. How should Israel solve the problem?

No, its a knowledge of history. There is NO history of self rule by the "Palestinians" in that territory. It has ALWAYS been controlled by others.

I somehow doubt "history of self rule" is what the Palestinians land claim is based on.

Regardless, why can't you answer the Texas/Mexico question by itself?

    I did.

Any such attempt to create such a state without the permission of the United States and the State of Texas would end very badly for those attempting it. And if it were determined that Mexico was responsible for the attempt, then the US and Mexico would be at war.

What if it was endorsed by the UN? That wouldn't change your mind?

Before you say "no parallel" again, the point I'm trying to make is, "Whether or not it's true, the Palestinians believe Israel stole their land. If you believed someone stole your land, how would you respond?"

    No.

No more than I would endorse the existance of Israel if that territory had not been lawfully given to it for that purpose by the British Government...with the endorsement of the UN.

Depends who you ask. He likely would have said "Palestinian," others would say there's no such nationality as "Palestinian."

I'd also like to point out that answering a question with a question isn't really an answer.

You are incorrect. He was an Egyptian national, born in Cairo.

    Thanks for playing.

This reminds me of my college philosophy class where we were told that using a dictionary definition in order to prove/disprove a logical argument would result in a 0 grade.

Don't lash out at me because your instructors allowed laziness in the work of their students.

Here's an idea. Answer the question I posed to you many posts ago.

Palestinians do not recognize Israel's right to exist. How should Israel resolve this problem?

Ask for a third, neutral party to occupy/patrol a buffer between Israel and the West Bank (including Gaza in it's entirety), dismantle all Israeli settlements from the West Bank by force, and recognize the Palestinian state but demand a ceasefire and recognition as conditions.

If they refuse, drive them to Jordan/Saudi Arabia and build a new wall.

Also, it's not laziness if Bear doesn't know the definition of the term "nation".
