A thought on the lack of outrage/action over Benghazi

No one believes at this point the attack was about a film. Everyone knows that line was bullshit.

And the whole "is it because of guys out for a walk one night and they decide they go kill some Americans?" line is just unbelievably stupid.

I think she's done. You can see the wear that the office put on her. She's going to retire and stay retired.

Or you could read the whole quote where she says it's important to find out why they attacked, instead of a chopped up Fox News edit.

I'm pretty sure the administration knows and just doesn't want to admit it.

They were smuggling weapons to the Syrian rebels and something happened and the shit hit the fan.

This is why they are so desperate to obfuscate and played up the film thing and then the whole it was just guys strolling along who decided on a whim to attack a specific target.

Alas, Republicans have killed parody. All efforts to parody the Republicans on Benghazi and similar made-up scandals end up sounding like aping them instead. There's not a lick of difference between this parody and the words of the Republican leadership.

What difference? Are you shitting me? The difference is that this could set a precedence. If your security/procedures are this fucked up, next time it might not be four Americans killed, it might be four-hundred.

I'm pretty sure it wasn't like the President of Fox News trying to get General Petraeus to run for President, with the owner of Fox Rupert Murdoch bankrolling his run, and Fox News acting as his 'in house' spin team.

Because we haven't seen that level of media impartiality since William Randolph Hearst instigated the Spanish-American war.

But at least with Rupert Murdoch pulling the strings on the Presidency we wouldn't have had any issues with illegal wiretapping....

In other news, the fallout from getting a bunch of diplomats killed during an hours long attack on a US Embassy? Absolutely nothing, apparently. Hillary isn't to blame because she didn't know about the security concerns there. And the people who allegedly *did* know...are on paid administrative leave. That's right. The reward for failing at their highly paid jobs is that they get to go on a highly paid vacation indefinitely. And the one guy who resigned? He didn't actually resign. He still works for State. He just got moved to a different job.

With the GOP, under Bush, this would have been a terrible tragedy. Under Obama, it's a horrible act of incompetence. Of course, if the political situation were reversed, we'd be seeing 2000 to 2008 again. They don't give a shit about the people, you don't give a shit about the people, all that matters is that the guy you don't like was in office when it happened, and THAT's why you give a shit. Fuck the people, you just want the guy in office gone, and you'll fling every turd at your disposal to do it. The same applies to the GOP, and when a Republican is in office next time a terrorist attack occurs, the Dems will do the exact same thing.

They don't give a good goddamn about lives. It's about power. It's always about power.
