Looks like Castle is going to go down in Delaware to the craziest of the Teabagger lot so far and that's saying something. When the Tea Party costs the GOP control of Congress the Civil War in the party is going to be awesome. I wasn't alive for the great Democratic Party Civil War in the late 60s, here's hoping this lives up to that.

Mr. Ed could run against the Dems and win. They have totally fucked their boat. People want them so far out of Washington, they'd restart the space program just to ship the dems off planet.

Buh bye, we won't miss your deficit spending country destroying ways.

If you think that any Republican other than Castle has a decent chance to win in Delaware, you're fucking retarded. And a teabagger. And come November the Democrats will thank you most profusely for shitting away a Senate seat.

Meh, I fail to recognize the inherent rationality of any populace that repeatedly voted in Joe Biden.

Or Ted Kennedy in MA. He kept getting elected but no one up there I ever met admitted voting for him.

Because they were not voting for Ted Kennedy.

They were voting for the memory of a dead man.

I got some bad news for you. She's going to win the general election as well. Why?

Because all the polls only show Republicans who support her. Once you factor in the independents who couldn't vote in today's primary she has a lead over the Democrat.

She's ran for statewide off before though and lost badly every single time. She's a known quantity.

Indeed. She's a well known absurdist right-wing crank, in a blue state. And the people who voted "Castle" in the primary will either sit out the general or vote Democratic. She's Dayton, with a bit of apostle and Ted thrown into the mix.

She's going to lose by a completely embarrassing amount.

Your problem is the dems are now a known quantity too, and they're at the bottom of the barrel, so anyone else is above them. Seriously, do underestimate the rage at the Dems for the utter clusterfuck they've made of this country since they've all been in power. People also will not forget that the decline of this country began when they took Congress in 06'.

People won't forget Obamacare. They won't forget the threat of Cap and Trade. They won't forget the corruption of the Democrats. They won't forget how everything under Obama has gotten worse while he and Joe Biden run around lying about the economy. They won't forget they hate Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and are severely disappointed in Obama. They won't forget that Obama has made Bush look like the model of fiscal restraint. They won't forget that Obama has put us into so much debt it will take decades if not a century to pay it off. They won't forget the two faced maneuvers from this administration (ban oil drilling yet hand off billions to Mexico to drill).

But you all go on right ahead thinking she's going to lose.

And you know what? I don't care if she loses either. I'd rather have that seat sitting in Democrat hands then in the hands of a fucking RINO who votes for Obama on practically everything.

The sooner political parties and the US government in general collapse, the better off we'll all be. Enough of this chaotic mess in Washington and the pc. Gimme one order to shut down this bullshit. The fewer people involved in government, the better.

Ah, so you're one of those who wants to repeal the First Amendment. Noted.

Political parties are a necessary consequence of the rights to free speech and to peaceably assemble. If you don't like that, you might try living somewhere else.

    1. O'Donnell has a lot of low hanging fruit, and the GOP already did the Dems opposition research

    2. The NRSC has already said they won't spend a nickel on her

    3. Realistically, it will take a moderate sized miracle for her to win the seat.

All that said - I'm glad she won. It's about time tools like Castle figure out there's a limit to how much they can suck the left wing cock and get re-elected. if they need fools like Castle for a majority then they don't need a majority.

the only thing one seat will really cost them, at most, is committee chairmanships.

The problem with the GOP - the reason that so many rightly say that the difference in the two parties is marginal - is because sensible men like DeMint and Coulburn (and Miller and Buck and Rand Paul, by the way) can't get anything really sensible done si because nit-wits like Snowe, Collins, Spector, and Castle get in the damned way.

Do4es that mean that actual good government will never happen because not enough voters will send small-government conservatives to Congress?

    Yeah. probably.
but I, for one, had rather have a minority party that clearly stood for good ideas and worked to enact them (even though usually failing) than a watered down weak-sauce Democrat-Lite party who succeeded - but succeeded only in passing stuff that was only marginally better than what the Dems would do.

If Mitch McConnell and John Cornyn and Thad Cochran and whoever else can't be arsed to be part of the solution then they are part of the problem.

(And yes, i know those folks are not inclined to pass ENDA or whatever, but if the whole damn system collapses in bankruptcy, who's gonna enforce that shit even if it passes?)

well, personal baggage aside, she's the KIND of Republican we should want.

I'm all for "ge6t rid of both of them" in principle, but the truth is that there's a sliver of the GOP - maybe a third? - who has good sense and would govern well, at least for a while. it's just that they can never get all the votes in their own party for good sense, let alone the majority of either body of the Congress.

Here's the problem with that - as much as it would be great fun to see her win, she's running against a person who wasn't actually in congress and if he says something reasonable about it when ask, the gullible Delaware voters will (enough of them to make the difference) not hold him responsible for what happened there.

they SHOULD be skeptical of ALL Democrats, but I'm betting they won't.

Plus, in a lot of ways O'Donnell sounds like Delaware's version of Alan Keyes - which is to say she makes it all to easy for her opponents to attack her.

I THINK that the wave is so big, and the help of DeMint and Palin will be effective enough, that she'll actually scare the shit out of the Ruling Class folks in both parties - which is to say she might do almost twice what she'd do in an ordinary year - but I have to admit I consider her an underdog even with all that.

I don't really understand your question.

I'm saying that the political position she espouses, particularly concerning economics and domestic (non-social) policy are the right positions.

Irrespective of whether her personal conduct is praise-worthy.

    Democrat.
    Republican.
    Green.
    Progressive.
    Libertarian.
    Independent.

If the bottom for had more clout, there'd be possible hope. Of course, the Green and Progressives aren't ideal by ANY stretch of the imagination and I haven't read enough on the Independents.

Now if the Whigs, Bull Moose and Federalists came back... :garamet:

Do you have a link for this?

According to news reports the Democrat in that state currently enjoys a 26 point lead.

In almost every future I can see involving totalitarian dictatorship, you are executed by the state.
