http://dailycaller.com/2012/01/03/m...ehind-bars-for-unknowingly-violating-gun-law/ I glanced and didn't see this one posted yet so if it is, lock it I guess. I don't see how anyone who owns a gun is unaware of the New York thing at this point but obviously they are. I would like to see one of these people go to trial and the law get challenged and overturned.
I have said it before and I will say it again: banning guns in this manner is not a powerful reserved to the states. Choosing to not give full faith and credit to a right recognized by another state is not a power reserved to the states. The constitution protects these people on both these grounds. Just because the legal system in many liberal states is unamerican does not mean these people should be punished.
I wonder how many gun-grabbers are now also bed-wetters wondering how many guns they let slip through?
These people are asking to check their guns because they're about to walk through metal detectors. If you wanted to just risk it and not go into the major land marks you could likely walk around NYC with a gun undetected for a long time. I doubt too many guns are going to slip through the detectors.
I've read that several major players such as GOA and NRA are latching onto these as test cases. Think about the symbolism of getting rights back through cases tied to the 9/11 memorial. It would be huge!
Ok 3 cases in 3 weeks? Either this has been going on for a while and it's just now getting national play or someone is setting up a bunch of test cases.
Uuhh! Ryan Jerome, what a crummy name. In school a Ryan was always a little douche who needed a rock to the head. And then follow that up with Jeroooome? Yuck! Poor bastard NEEDS a gun.
Really? So you didn't file the legal paperwork to have your marriage legally recognized? Sure that if you really felt that way you would be able to find a church willing to marry you in the eyes of God while making clear in the ceremony that it wasn't a legally binding event.
Now where did you get that from? I say that I don't think something should be the way it is, and you ask if I'm operating as though things aren't the way they are. What you said doesn't make any sense.
I agree with this too, however those are not the facts on the ground at the moment. Full faith and credit therefore apply.
They do, of course. While I wouldn't want my state supporting same sex marriage, I think that you're right. Full faith and credit do apply.
The laughs keep on coming...bring a gun to the Empire State Building....sheesh!! Lemme ax you this....in other states, can you bring guns to popular sightseeing spots?? Do check guns for tourists?? The biggest reason I can think of as to why tourists are getting caught with gun is that tourism in NYC is up big. The streets are full of these mugs. Everywhere. Everyday.
Three weeks, three incidents at three conspicuous points in New York City involving three lifelong gun owners who for some reason allegedly knew nothing about the gun laws in New York State. Curiouser and curiouser...
That's what I said about the LaGuardia incident, and you guys started foaming at the mouth. WF: It's not what's said, but who says it.
Black gun carrier at Empire State Building - Arrested, thrown in jail and forgotten by the press and society. Muslim gun carrier at the Empire State Building - Terrorist attempt foiled. Good on NYPD. White gun carrier from out of town - Poor innocent individual arrested unjustifably. Laws do not apply. Horses for courses.
I have you on ignore, because I resent your presence and you're a bitch. I rarely read your posts, and since what you write normally stupid, no one quotes you. As the final blow, you're a liar so you probably didn't say that to begin with.
Did these people get to NYC by horse?? Cuz I really doubt that they flew in. Only shlubs from out of state would drive from far to go sightseeing in NYC.
No, seriously, take another look at it: Case #1: Co-founder of the Tea Party Patriots gets stopped by TSA at LaGuardia. Claims he was "just passing through" New York, had the gun secured, what the hell is their problem. Turns out he was in New York for four days ("passing through"? ) and there's no indication of how he got in with the weapon in the first place. I'm thinking "Drove in from Canada," but I'm not a gun-owner, so what do I know? Case #2: Woman walks up to a security guard at Ground Zero because there's a sign that says "No guns" and asks where she should check her gun. Case #3: The Empire State Building. What's next? Some yob wearing a tricorn hat shows up with a musket at One PP?
A gun at the airport has to be the stupidest move evah!! You can hardly get a big nail clipper through there. I flew during Thanksgiving and they check EVERYTHING at JFK.
I take guns to the airport all the time. TSA gets so nervous when they handle them; it's funny. Come to think of it, they're probably almost as scared of those inanimate objects as you are.
