    From here

    :jayzus:

I can't stand Hillary but shit like this, B. Hussein's plans for a Stalinesque Cult of Personality, makes me really pray that she can pull off a miracle comeback.

"Ask what you can do" is a bit different than "He is going to demand that you shed your cynicism...Barack will never allow you to go back to your lives as usual, uninvolved, uninformed."

From each according to his ability. To each according to his need.

No slouching here. The state will provide for you, but the state will also require you to do your part for the collective effort.

This is the meaning of freedom. :borg:

Weren't you the one saying "Anyone but Hillary" a scant few weeks ago when you posted an Ann Coulter thread?

But of course, this is just attacking the frontrunner.

No. A dictator wants you out of the political process and trusting him to be your Daddy, not involved in the political process and responsible.

It's rhetoric, but it doesn't sound like a dictatorship. It sounds more like a vague but colourful dream, where everyone smiles as you drift past the flowers.

    Do the flowers sing?

    What about the sun?
    What does he do?
Sing too, or just bob his head like Stevie Wonder to the flower music?

    Shit. :(

Those dirty screwheads in the Democratic Party are determined to force me to swallow my self-respect and vote for McCain, aren't they? :itsokay:

^ Well, having to swallow your pride is pretty much a given no matter what you do:

    - Dont vote, knowing that you are relinquishing your right to be a part of the process of choice.

    - Vote third party or write-in (what I'm going to do, almost certainly): It makes a statement, but you know you're letting others make the real choice for you.

    - Vote McCain: One would have to hold one's nose to do so. He really isn't what American is looking for, or needs.

    - Vote Obama (or, perhaps by some malefic miracle, Clinton): You have to hold your nose, stop the gag reflex, and swallow your pride. No way is either of them better for America. Maybe not much worse, and maybe not bad in the same way, but no better.

So let's not pretend there are any good choices in this election.

    See, that's my conundrum.

When I just thought Obama would be harmless and ineffectual, he really wasn't any worse than McCain, who's about as stable as an inbred bipolar rhino with a migraine. Then I could vote for some third party candidate that I believed in. And as an added plus, the big O would've managed to push Republicans into control of the Legislature before becoming a one-termer. And he'd keep Insane McCain out of office. So it was win-win all around.

But increasingly I think Castro, Chavez, or Mugabe would be as good a Presidents as Obama, so I'm forced to go with McCain in a vain effort to block. Christ. :itsokay:

Lol, its comical, after 2 of the most disastrous terms in american politics you'd have thought the democrats were actual devils given how comically terrified people are by the thought of them getting the presidency

You keep using that phrase. I don't think it means what you think it means.

How was it disastrous? The economy is chugging along just fine. My taxes have gone down. I have more gun rights than I did eight years ago. There hasn't been a terrorist attack on US soil since September 11 2001. I've got a good job. And the world is about as safe a place as it was eight years ago--arguably safer.

Umm lets see, a war that has so far cost 500 billion (that will have to be paid for at some point) the economy about to crash because of bad lending/consumer debt, the loss of thousands of americans soldiers and hundreds of thousands of iraqis for no good reason, the creation of the worlds worst refugee crisis by a looong way and turning most of the worlds people and governments more against you than they were before.

And thats just a start

For the democrats to have a worse 2 terms they would have to start the first intergalactic war with Mars and lose it....

Sounds like a rallying cry to the faithful and not a promise of what's in store for US citizens if he is elected.

Your taxes have gone down in the same way that your salary goes up when you max out all your credit cards. I.e., not.

Sorry, I didn't realize that post was ironic.
