There are rumors that the suit is laced with kryptonite, and that he has a kryptonite spear. Won't really know until the movie comes out though. Kryptonite as we know it hasn't been introduced into the MoS universe. Kryptonian atmosphere served the plot purpose of kryptonite, I dunno how they're gonna concentrate that into solid matter without too much exposition crammed in.
Kryptonite shielding on your Batmobile is not terribly helpful when Superman drops an 18-wheeler on it from 50 stories up.
Heeyyy, that's right, the filming was delayed early on so they could beg more money from the studio to shoot Themyscira stuff for the Wonder Woman chunk.
Nope. It looks like there's a battle between Batman and the "Superman Cops" in some dry, dusty country. Stylistically, the scene with the guys on horseback--they don't appear to be Amazons or any kind of ancient soldier--fit in with the scenes beginning at 2:38.
My best guess at the plot is that Luthor manipulates (via a U.S. Senator, maybe with the "Superman Cops", and MAYBE with the Joker notes) Bats and Supes into conflict, Batman wins and Luthor takes "possession" of Superman, Batman finds out the truth (Luthor is using Kryptonian DNA to create a monster), Batman rescues Superman from the remote location, Doomsday is loosed, and Wonder Woman shows up for the final battle.
Notice that the "Superman Cops" are all wearing steel Nazi helmets, and that they kneel when Supes walks past them. My guess is that Luther secretly creates the Superman Cops to up the antagonism between Supes and Bats (with the Superman Cops worshipping Supes as a Gawd) and uses his influence with Holly Hunter to get the government agitated against Supes. The riders could be guys going out to a remote area to find a hunk of Kryptonite (or that might be what the diver is after).
I was wondering if the SuperCops were maybe some sort of cultish type of outfit that Batman simply concluded were working under his authority when they really aren't. Frankly, they don't make much sense out of context.
Notice Superman never speaks in either trailer? I wonder if that's just an artistic choice, because they want the narrative to be about how everyone reacts TO him, OR if the Supes dialogue would clear things up too quickly.
I feel like a lot of it is out of context. The Ma Kent scene seems like the one with Pa Kent in MoS, which people went nuts over.
Freebeacon article on something Batman related. One of the bits of news to spill out of Comic Con this weekend was the revelation that DC and Warner Brothers would be putting together an animated version of “The Killing Joke.” Needless to say, this is very problematic. For those of you not in the know, “The Killing Joke” is considered a seminal Batman story from the 1980s; along with Frank Miller’s work on “The Dark Knight Returns” and “Batman: Year One,” Alan Moore’s “The Killing Joke” basically set the tone for the character for the next 30 or so years. “The Killing Joke” would have a profound impact on the DC comic book universe, as Barbara Gordon (a/k/a Batgirl) was shot in the spine by the Joker, crippling her. Gordon would go on to become Oracle, a beloved character who served as a sort of directory assistance for characters in the Batman universe. She starred in a series called Birds of Prey that teamed her up with Black Canary, turning her into something of an icon for both feminist comic book fans and advocates for the disabled. Despite the fact that “The Killing Joke” directly led to the creation of one of the great feminist characters of all time, feminists hate the book because it involves a female character being shot, stripped, and photographed nude in order to mentally wound a male character. Mention “The Killing Joke” on Tumblr or Twitter and feminist fangirls lose their minds. They start screaming about “fridging”* and dudebros and sexism. They wail about the world of comics not being considered a safe space, that the companies aren’t welcoming them with open arms.
A man completely covered, except part of his face, in cloth (or better) needs an item in the desert with a collar because...? Who says the man has no fashion sense! Also, you still dress in all black even in the desert because you're the goddamned Batman, that's why.
I never really understood the complaint. He's the fucking JOKER forcryinoutloud, what's he supposed to do - embezzle her bank account?
I was really hoping this was a spoof by them as a tease for next season. I wish they would return to the dayman story.
So far I'm just not buying the new Lex. I'll give him a fair shake when the movie comes out but he better at least be on par with young Lex from Smallville.
