I have the Rogue Cut; it's not hugely different from the theatrical cut. Basically, when Wolverine inadvertently wounds Kitty while she's trying to sustain him in the past, Prof. X and co. have to break Rogue out of prison and have her take over (by absorbing Kitty's powers). Other than the brief prison break sequence, it doesn't amount to much. Just imagine the later scenes of Kitty struggling replaced by Rogue comfortably managing.

    Just watched the ultimate cut.

    MUCH better.

Highly recommended, especially if you hated the theatrical cut.
Flows smoother, explains things, give scenes room to breathe, this is the one the Warner execs gave the standing ovation to.

Jon Schnepp from Collider who hated the theater cut, and gave it a 6.5 out of 10 bumped it up to 8.5 and Umberto Gonzalez from Heroic Hollywood who liked the theatrical cut and gave it an 8.5 out of 10 bumped it all the way up to 10.

I'm with Umberto, but if you're a hater, give it a chance, if it can turn Schnepp around, you just may like it.

Saw the Collider review last night. That Schnepp came around was really surprising.

I really liked BvS, so I'm totally looking forward to this.

I always fully intended to get the blu-ray though, I just wanted to see the Collider review informed and spoiler-vaccinated.

Just watched it, I would have sat through the extra thirty minutes. I liked the movie the first time, and this version is even better.

Re-watched the theatrical version and watched the extended cut last night.

Though I was pretty happy with the theatrical cut, the extended cut is a marked improvement. I don't think it will change anyone from "hated it" to "loved it," but it definitely kicks the film up a notch or two. Though it still has flaws, I will proclaim it: BvS Extended is a masterpiece of the comics film genre.

    The three biggest changes:
    1. The setup in Africa is much, much more clear. When this point is more strongly made, the audience has far less room to doubt/not sympathize with Superman.
    2. The extent of Luthor's grand plan of deception is shown.
    3. We SEE Clark Kent--as a reporter--gathering evidence that supports his hard line against Batman. Particularly effective is the scene where he talks with the baby mama of a criminal killed in prison for having the bat brand.

Most of the other changes are small (Jena Malone's role/scenes, for instance, add very little except one detail about the bombing of the Capitol).

Yes, the weird dream/vision of the future, the encounter with the Flash, and the Justice League setup are all still there, and I think these are a detriment to the film. The narrative flow would be much cleaner without them.

The R-rating is barely justified. There's one f-bomb, one shot of Affleck's ass in the shower, a few (mainly CGI) blood spatters, and that's about it.

For me, this is the definitive version of the film.

    :techman:

P.S. I think EisenLuthor is absolutely brilliant. I love this take/performance on the character.

Alright. Suffered through it. I won't repeat what has been said a million times already about the script's stupidity and who greenlights this crap. Martha? Really? The titular fight lasting all of five minutes? Come on.

But there is one thing. The one unforgiveable sin: it's BORING. It's so boring you almost won't realize how little sense it makes. There are in fact exactly three things I enjoyed during the epic three hour runtime:

    - Ben Affleck as older and bitter Batman (not his actions, there's the stupidity again)
    - Eisenberg's Luthor and
    - Wonder Woman (criminally underused and too superficial though. We don't need to learn Bat's backstory yet again when there's a new character we don't know anything about!)

Also, still not liking how they make Supes his own worst enemy. I get it, he's too powerful so they turn inward. But IMHO that is what reboots are for. But they're even cutting their own flesh there by making him even more powerful. I know, because shock in the end. Big shock. Big big shock. Which falls completely flat due to that moronic script.

That's about it. I usually try to enjoy movies that are being panned by self-important twats but this one deserves all the heat it's getting. If that's the direction DC wants to go with its movie universe it'll be DOA. Giving the shaft to the TV characters like Flash won't help either.

Saw the extended cut. Still don't get all the hate. This is by no means a masterpiece but is a good, well shot and entertaining movie. I really like the tone of it, the action is just fantastic and I love how it's the precursor to the Justice League. The story flows along better with the extended cut for sure.

Batfleck still holds up as a really solid Batman, this still surprises me. Jesse Eisenberg isn't a very good Luthor at all. Henry Cavill is great. Gal Gadot nailed it, wish she had more screen time. Jeremy Irons is awesome. Lois Lane is kinda meh, thought she was much better in Man of Steel.

Bring on more of this universe I say. I think it's great how we have two distinctly different comic book universes, it's a good time to be alive if you're into that sort of thing.
