Nuance requires pointing out that more than one thing can be true, and that takes more words than simple yes/no responses. I've stated multiple times I'm not for religious interventions in public policy, and actively oppose this nonsense. I'm actively for transgender people getting appropriate medical care. I only have concerns when the nonsense that gender and sex are identical start impacting OTHER PEOPLE's rights and well-being. There is no positive assertion that we are required to make others feel good about their choices. But objective reality says that even if the Taliban 2.0 were successful there would be less harm than what is going on in an active warzone where one side is attempting the genocide of the other en toto. Anyone who lived for 3 months as a different gender can auto report as that gender, and will be treated that way under the law. And, of course, no actual reporting or enforcement mechanism. The women who was raped worried about men using these loopholes to attack women in what have traditionally been sexually segregated havens of course is going to have a huge problem with this.
