I got a physics degree so I think in physics terms a lot, but I don't talk to people in physics terms like this.

Okay, so the It Could Happen Here podcast did an episode about the death of NFTs. Here's the important takeaway from that episode that they don't really talk about, even though they absolutely should, is that had NFTs been properly set up, there would have been real value to them. No shit.

I would hope that we've all learned by now that just because you legitimately bought a digital copy of something (book, movie, etc.) doesn't mean that you'll always be able to access it. I think that we also agree that if you buy a digital copy of a movie from Amazon that you should be able to watch it whenever and wherever you want, right? In passing, they say that had NFTs been done differently, it wouldn't have mattered if the company you bought your digital copy of a movie from went out of business, you'd still be able to watch your copy when you wanted to. Or ebook, or whatever digital content you're talking about. Maybe somebody should jump on something like that. I don't know.

mental note, never ever attend a rich idiot rave in Hong Kong.

I don't think it will ever come up, but blacklights, some edm, and me being a fucking slut is no reason for me to go blind.

So, Behind the Bastards has started a two-parter on Sam Bankman-Fried. Remember how we all laughed hysterically when we heard the guy who wrote "The Big Short" was following SBF to write a book about him and we all were like, "WTF?" Well, it turns out that guy, Michael Lewis, is just as big of a piece of shit as SBF, and that's been behind the guy's entire career. You know how people will watch a movie or TV show with a horrible character, and will somehow get the impression that that is a person you want to emulate? Well, that's sort of the reverse of what's been going on with Michael Lewis' writing over the years. All the people that we think were giant pieces of shit that he wrote about? He wrote about them because he liked them! Those sleazy traders who got rich off the economy imploding? They're friends of his!

That (along with the fact that one of his cousins is a dutchess, who got him a seat at a dinner with Queen Elizabeth back in the 80s) explains not only how he was able to hang out with SBF, but why he wrote a book (that came out when the trial started) praising SBF.

Here’s a thought: It turns out that SBF invested a lot of money in an AI company. He gave them a large enough amount of money that if the stock goes up, the folks who got ripped off by SBF will get almost all of their money back.
