Chewie's reaction to Redshirt and Janeway doing the same thing a couple of days ago make me think that he thought breaching a minefield to scan was an aggressive act and I was just going to knock down all of his minefields in response until I saw the scans on 45-2 and the disappearing planetary defenses.
Well, if we're posting logs . . . (Bad timing there . . .) And then today: Within 2.5 hours of which I noticed that one of my planets . . . Ajar, in fact . . . was inexplicably lacking in torpedoes of any sort. (All those digits push the Torpedoes column off the screen unless I scroll over there.) There's just no way I could have left a planet totally bare of torps for as long as that planet has existed. Even the one planet I took from Cain (near the start of the game) that I figured he'd snap right back up, I put a few torps on that. There's no way that planet was bare of torps for any reason short of an attack. No attack in my logs . . . someone must have SOFA'ed it. Who had been in the sector? Unless someone snuck in, Chewie was the only person who could have done it. Nobody else has even scanned a planet in that sector since . . . before May 25th.
And then he had the utter gall to come over with his tame doctor and stand by and sneer while the Emperor died . . . no, wait, wrong movie . . .
So only the torpedoes were at 0, and not the fighters? Doesn't sound like a SOFA to me, unless you had very few torps.
I'm guessing you've only seen planets that I've taken over from defunct players I have no idea why anyone thinks they need so many zillions of torps on a single planet, honestly . . .
Still, your torpedo launchers only fire 2% of what your torpedo launchers can hold. So unless you only had a hundred or so torpedoes on your worlds, I don't see how they disappeared. Also, did your number of fighters change?
Ok, just to put my two cents in................I dont know what sofaing is. So if i did it. I am truely sorry. Pm in game and we can talk I bumped a wrong button on a random scanned and got my ass blown up. I had no intent on attacking anybody. I just fucked up. So who wants to fight Just joking!
SOFA (Sub Orbital Fighter Attack) is when you send in your fighters to weaken a planet for the kill. You carry out a SOFA attack by clicking on an enemy planet and looking for the SOFA option, then clicking on it, saying you're sure about it, and then waiting for the game to tell you if your attack was successful.
Darkstryke, wrt your minefields, I'm sorry, but that was an accidental click on my part, trying to get to a nearby system. I was following up on some old data, checking up on William Kidd's sectors nearby (which is how I found Thrawn's minefields). Someone who shall remain nameless wanted some information as up-to-the-minute as possible. I didn't SOFA any of Thrawn's worlds (sorry, I can't say who I sold to) but I did accidentally one of NAHTMM's while trying to scan. The numbers looked odd, and I was trying to figure out why someone would have millions of torps and no fighters, or if I was getting massive scanner error. If anyone wants reparations, PM me. Don't wipe out another player for something I did without coming to me first. I was in the game for a while today, and I didn't get a single PM from any of the Alliance members I "attacked" to ask why. Its easy to jump to conclusions when you aren't looking, and I hope the Alliance will compensate matt for their gross overreaction. I can understand the destruction of my minefields in retaliation, but he didn't do anything, and doesn't deserve what he got.
Indeed, and if the Seekers were set up for military actions, we would retaliate in kind (as many members of my alliance have asked), but I'm hoping diplomacy can settle this.
I don't understand that part myself. All I know is, there weren't any notes of attacks in my logs and the torps were at zero, there had to be something screwy going on. Now, that and the energy I wouldn't have noticed so much. I'd say you had a couple of wires crossed, personally Eh, it was accidental, I'll let it slide. Don't wipe out another player for something I did without coming to me first. I just figured you were doing practice runs or something. Reparations are likely out of my ballpark, but I'll send 'em some cash.
I wasn't referring to you, NAHTMM. You didn't do anything wrong, and frankly I'm continually baffled at your amazing progress in the game despite your ATL of 4. Thrawn is the one who wiped out 80% of Matt's territory.
Just to explain why I drew the conclusions I drew to everyone else, if Chewie didn't SOFA 45-2 then someone did. I was a bit cheap defense wise when gobbling up Kidd's abandoned empire and I wound up leaving the defenses in place on lots of planets after taking them. Each planet in the system had the same level of torps but today I saw the levels had dropped after multiple scans that weren't the back to back within a few seconds type you'd expect when someone tries to clarify a scan. Anyone who questions this I invite to scan the other worlds of sector 45 to compare the sector defenses, each world did have 0 fighters and a certain # of torps, 1 and 3-5 still do but 2 only has the limited number of torps I saw left this morning and the fighter/torp reinforcement I dumped after seeing the torp drop. About the reaction to the perceived attack, doesn't anyone remember how the Federation and Colonials responded to perceived acts of aggression in earlier games?
I don't remember, but I'd imagine they did the same thing you guys did and attack the opposing alliance's weaker members. But they probably had better reason to attack, such as a member from the opposing alliance full-on attacking a Fed/Colonial ship or planet. It's impossible to tell from your logs who SOFAed your planets, and if they actually were SOFAed. A simple PM to Chewie could have cleared things up. I remember both you and him being online at the same time (at least 30 minutes after the alleged SOFAs took place).
I have been away for four days, I find all these events to be troubling. Matthunter has twenty four hours to give me one good reason I should not take all his remaining worlds.
Because I just transferred 475 million into your IGB account to recompense for the 3 million fighters and 6 million torpedoes I took out, plus 150 million extra for energy consumption and the inconvenience?
Eh, that's partly because I didn't feel like stocking up on millions of defectors for the sake of a few rides through your minefields Oh, it's not quite THAT low. It probably does look like it from where you're standing. It helps to pick up a few monster planets and not have anyone gunning for you all the time too. I wasn't exactly in the thick of things, but I knew enough about what was going on that I could (or should?) have suggested a bit more restraint or an alteration in tactics at some point. Live and learn, I guess.
I generally roll with a billion deflectors, just to be safe. Then again, I ran afoul of many minefields in the first game, so I'm probably paranoid.
Im gonna SOFA everybody!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just joking! I still dont understand how too! Im just Shakes being Shakes right now!
