So does anyone have any suggestions as to what the game settings for the next round should be? I think we should go back to a slightly smaller galaxy, maybe 2,500 sectors or so. Also, go back to the old interest rates and maybe decrease the max population a little (from 1 billion to 500 million?). Another thing that might interesting is to have a super quick game that lasts a week or two. 250-500 sectors, ridiculously profitable buy/sell prices, etc.
Good luck to you all who want to try. I took out the sector defenses, but the planets are huge. The best hope is to wait for a plasma storm. A plasma storm . . . and a Black Plague . . . and a Middle East embargo . . . and a lot of gremlins running around fouling all the launchers up with sticky stuff . . . and . . .
I'm going to sit out the next game, have a ton of stuff to do and I have spent far too much time with this damn thing.
In a remote sector of space, four figures come together for a final meeting. Chewie: The ending is upon us, the universe is unmade. Timmy: Why the hell are you talking like that? Chewie: I'm trying to be drammatic, slowtard! The universe is about to end, this is my last chance! Timmy: Chance for what? Chewie: There's only one hot Seeker left, I'm trying to get her desperate enough. Shakes: I like my men hairless and trained to kill. You kill in a haphazard fashion. Chewie: Matt: Blimey, I'm British AND I miss TKO. Shakes: I miss her cereal, and her evil girly parts. Chewie: We all miss that, sadly she died without being deflowered, and try as some might, you can't deflower drifting space debris. Timmy: Don't have to tell me twice Chewie: So, as I was saying, the Alliance handed us an ultimatum. We give them all our money in perpetuity, or they wipe us out. Shakes: Timmy: Matt: Chewie: That's what I thought. I destroyed over a hundred of my worlds, and built an impregnable hidden fortress to wait for the ending. It has been an honor to serve with you all. I will let them know, and then we will wait for the unmaking. Twilight is upon us, and soon night must fall. Farewell, Seekers. All the Seekers: To: The Alliance Re: Disposition of Seeker funds. Action: Molon Labe ===END DISPATCH===
I offered all The Seekers a chance to keep their empires, you responded by hurling obscenities at me. This judgement was brought down on yourself. While you are noting things, also see that we are an alliance of our word. After Cain ceased his aggression towards us his empire was also left alone, in some cases even sharing systems.
When did we ever act aggressively towards your alliance, except for in self-defense or revenge for attacking us?
Indeed, this 'reasonable peace' was brought to me WHILE two different members of the alliance were actively attacking and looting my sectors. Coexistence and negotiation are one thing, armed extorition is very different. They are all quite well protected, I think you'll find. It isn't my problem if you can't find them, your judgement has already been written. BTW, 'Molon Labe' isn't an obscenity. If I were doing those, you'd know it. The Seekers extended you every courtesy and benefit of the doubt, and were repeatedly mistrusted, attacked, maliciously targeted, and maligned at every turn. You even shot at poor Shakes just for the hell of it. What kind of monster would do such a thing to a Southern Belle of her refinement and status? If it still mattered, I'd open the Chronicle on all of you tomorrow. This is the SECOND time you've given an ultimatum to me. I trust you'll understand in the future that such acts are the mark of a lazy coward. Either wipe someone out or leave them alone, nobody will trust a man who doesn't take the time to call his enemies out and put them in the ground.
Please learn to read thanks. If you will look that message was directed to Shakes, who DID send an obscene message in the game. edit: Oh no, not the Chronicle! You might reveal my top secret banking worlds!. Oh....
You mean the person who never attacked you and whom you shot at earlier today for shits and giggles? Can't imagine why.
Again, when did we ever attack you? If all it took was not fighting back for Cain, why would you go on to attack us?
Cain was friendly, and had a mutually beneficial relationship, which came about when it was obvious he could no longer be a threat to us. There were two things different here. #1 - The Seekers were not as co-operative. #2 - There was no time to discuss things with other members of The Alliance, and as I said at the start this was an alliance where all members are on equal footing, not one I control.
After Chewie was just whinging at me in chat for being lazy for not wanting to risk my ship against worlds where the energy bug could kill me, I finally got tired of it and launched an attack. First energy bug for me of the game. Spent far too many credits rebuilding some defences, but the door is now a little more open on my planets for anyone who wants to take a crack. edit: for anyone who wants to see Chewy whine about how unfair it all is http://www.wordforge.net/showpost.php?p=1270364&postcount=291
Well I'm going to be near the bottom of the scores list, just spent almost all my credits on some upgrades, no point hoarding them just for the score when they are more useful now.
Jesus Bailey, how pathetic are you that you continue to bitch about last game. Get the fuck over it already.
Just some corrections: The Alliance knew I'd fight them right to the ground, and that would have been expensive. So we had a sit-down and came to the conclusion that such a fight would not be profitable and would be bad for business. As businessmen, we put away the anger and worked out an accomodation that has been beneficial for all concerned.
Anyone who wants a shot at 29 trillion credits should stop by the first planet in 4701 to see if they're strong enough to take down the Bank of Palpatine.
Oh really? Please show me where the last game came up apart from when Chewie first brought it up and I responded by pointing out that when similar tactics were used I didn't complain about them. Please, I must have missed that part of the discussion.
