Hell, YOU'D be a better president than Trump and you might be even more stupid than he, but you're hopefully not as sociopathic.

His name is Eugene Goodman and he ought to be the first Medal of Freedom recipient for President Biden (if Trum hasn't already ruined them for everyone. Maybe we can take back the one he wasted on Nunes?)

    https://www.theguardian.com/us-news...d-mob-away-from-senate-chambers-hailed-a-hero

Capitol Police officer Eugene Goodman, identified by CNN reporter Kristin Wilson, could be seen in video footage distracting rioters away from the chamber as police raced to secure the area.

In the confrontation, Goodman puts himself between a man wearing a black QAnon T-shirt and a hallway leading to the Senate chambers, then shoves the person to induce him and the crowd to chase Goodman towards officers in the opposite direction.

Capitol Police did not respond to a request regarding the identity of the officer. The efforts by Goodman, who is Black, gave police the time needed to race to lock the doors to the Senate chamber, according to the Washington Post.

Several lawmakers have praised Goodman’s actions.

Jaime Harrison, an associate chair of the Democratic National Committee, tweeted: “The word hero does not appropriately describe officer Eugene Goodman. His judgment & heroism may have saved our Republic.” Harrison called for Goodman to be considered for the congressional gold medal.

US Representative Bill Pascrell wrote on Twitter on Sunday: “As Trump’s fascist mob ransacked the US Capitol, this brave USCP [United States Capitol police] officer kept murderous rioters away from the Senate chamber and saved the lives of those inside. God bless him for his courage.”

Congressman Scott Peters tweeted: “Officer Eugene Goodman strategically led an angry mob away from the Senate floor during last week’s insurrection. His courage & decisive action likely saved lives. We owe Officer Goodman & many other law enforcement officers who kept us safe that day a debt of gratitude.”

Also:"More than 50 members of the U.S. Capitol Police were injured, including 15 who required hospitalization, most of them with head wounds"

Did Biden ever vote against a military appropriations bill or something? Just trying to figure out why OF thinks he's the devil.

Isn't it amazing how Joe Biden can be both a fragile, senile buffoon and the most brilliant conspirator in human history and soon-to-be tyrant at the same time?

    Doublethink is doublefun.

I wonder, though, if the real thinking is along the lines of "Biden is a fragile, senile buffoon that will manipulated and used by the real evil, Kamala Harris." Because you know how it's not about the fact she's female. Or Black. Of course not.

Take off the ''0' and 'K and what do you have? The total number of people who have died from covid in my corner of the world. TWENTY-FIVE dead. If Trump were doing as poorly as our democratic socialist MONSTER of a leader, the US's death's toll would be sitting at ~1900 total. You're losing double that a day.

Is that a realistic comparison? Of course not. But it bluntly illustrates how Donald Trump's willful negligence at the outset of this pandemic has cost 100'000's of innocent men, women and children their lives.

I can’t speak to any of the other points, but Joe does seem a bit fragile. Most people his age are.

Considering the kind of stress presidents put themselves through (present President excepted, of course), I honestly don't know if he'll survive his first term. But just imagine the outcry if ol' 'Kameltoe (tm oldfella1962)' takes office should he croak. Suddenly she'll be the leftiest leftist since Hugo Chavez and Fidel Castro...doesn't matter what her actual record is. She's a POC, she's a woman, and she's a Democrat. It's the trifecta of Republicans' worst nightmares.

No. We can, and we will. I'm not going to let that one go. If you want to go after someone about it, go after the person who originally said it.

    For reference:

Disgusting, isn't it? Maybe I should edit to my post with a "tm oldfella1962." He shouldn't be allowed to forget that garbage. Not that he cares, I'm sure.

Not to mention a slumlord squandering the millions her father left her, stiffing every contractor who ever worked for her, getting four deferments for bone spurs, paying people to take her SATs...

In @oldfella1962 's world, everyone has been 'radicalised' except the bampots who tried to storm the government.

I don't conceed for one instant that you have the slightest idea what you're talking about here, but if that was the case, that would be totalitariansism, but not fascism. All fascism is totalitarian, but not all totalitariansim is fascist.

You just make yourself look ignorant by accusing Biden of being both fascist and communist. (Whereas if you only accuse him of one of them, you only appear delusional.)

ummm......my vote totals were in jest. I might suck at math but not that badly. Again, unless you are fucking Nostradamus sorry you don't know what Hillary would have done. And if Trump were responsible for 250K deaths I'm guessing the DOJ/UN/CDC etc. would have a valid, tangible case against him. Maybe when we get a slow news week we'll hear about any such cases, but I doubt it.
At this point the court of public opinion might spin things that way, but you need to convince the rest of the world.

You know why all the other politicians on both sides who want Trump impeached aren't harping too much on the 250K COVID-19 deaths claim?
Because if they do then questions might be asked, such as how could Trump be the only person in Washington DC who knew about COVID-19? :chris:
And why didn't all the combined talent, brains and power in Washington bitch and scream to the world that Trump is committing mass murder? :chris:

Granted one of the reasons for impeachment is "mishandling of the CORONA-19 virus response." Well that isn't vague and open to interpretation is it? Did Trump mishandle it?
Quite possibly, and I'm not going to say "baseless charges" but the court of public opinion can't provide enough substantive details. Perhaps health experts can, but they don't seem to be too eager to dig much deeper other than "mishandling" because the pot might end up calling the kettle black.

yes totalitarianism would be a better term. Thank you. And of course you wouldn't concede that I might know what I'm talking about. How would it look for a person of your superior intellect entertaining the opinion of oldfella? And millions of people around the world see a slippery slope of America losing some civil liberties but what the hell do they know? Many have already seen it happen in their countries but in America? C'mon man! It's unheard of and Joe Biden will assure us that everything's okay and everyone who disagrees is delusional and aren't seeing what they think they are seeing.

Oldfella really isn't taking the absolute pasting his man got at the polls well is he?

This is reminiscent of some of the great WF post election meltdowns in 2004 and 2008.

Just a shame @Zombie RIP isn't around to play his part.

Nah, there were a few who tossed the toys out the pram when Obama got in and Dayton continued to call him a novelty president, but Oldfella was fairly accepting. The main difference this time is that Trump has melted his brain/radicalised him.

For the purposes of balance it should also be noted that there were some lefties that went off the reservation in 2004 as well.

I'd guess in most of the "Hilary won" timelines, Trump would either voluntarily have staayed out of politics because a) he was primarily in it as a publicity stunt to brand himself as the next Rush Limbaugh and/or b) he would have been so stunned by being a loser.

I'd also say that if he had lost to Hillary but decided to run a second time that he'd have a way harder time getting through the Republican primary. I think the contenders would have figured out how to attack him, that at least some of the novelty would have worn off and there would be a lot of anger that his not being good enough led to President Shillary.

But then again, the constant spin of every misstep that Hillary would have had directed at her might have confined her to a one-termer too.

I don't think any president in modern times could have gotten another term after covid. But that's more a commentary on the polarized, divided American electorate than on any individual politician. With Trump, it's that he did too little; with Clinton, it would have been that she did too much. At this point, we're either headed down the road to disunion...or, one side will decisively defeat the other and rule effectively unopposed for a generation.
