Bart O'Kavenaugh was not being questioned in a court of law. There were no charges against him. Ergo, "innocent until proven guilty" does not apply. He was essentially doing a job interview. If you were interviewing someone for a position in your company and several people came forward and told you that the interviewee had a habit of drunkenly sexually assaulting women, would you just shrug and say "innocent until proven guilty. He's hired!"? Would you not look into it at all?

Due process is required for criminal convictions, not public opinion.

It is, however, completely distinct from a formal legal system and that applies in this case as well as Kavanaugh's.
