It's an excellent gun, for sure.

Yours truly blasting away with the M4. Works great. Had one hiccough with light birdshot loads, slugs and buckshot fed flawlessly. Did a 5-shot 00 buck mag dump and the gun was empty incredibly fast. Seemed like I only fired three, but, nope, all 5 expended. VERY fast cycling. Love it!

A friend shooting the 69 Combat Magnum. I only brought .44 Specials--no Magnums--and it was very easy shooting. Shot well, but the sights proved a bit hard to adjust.

I've always been mildly interested in Benelli. I have no problem with their stuff, but I'm just a die hard Remington guy. If it's not an 870 or 11-87, I'm just not interested. Between my Coach Gun, my 870 Marine Magnum, and my 11-87 Police, I've got a shotgun that'll do whatever I'd need a shotgun to do.

A Marine Magnum is still on my wishlist, and the new line of detachable magazine 870s is very interesting.

Back home over Xmas my Dad offered me my Great Grandfather's Remington 1100. He's trying to buy me off. I want his old Humpback Browning. The only 12 I have is a Saiga which is... less than useful for most purposes.

Since I had to fly back with the kids he'll bring the 1100 out next trip. I'll take it.

    For now.

1100 is a great weapon! I used one once (a neighbor took me duck/goose hunting) when I was a kid. While I never used it for self defense, that smooth semi-auto capability would make a formidable home defense weapon.

Day 564 of the Gunpocalypse. Still haven't moved out of California, but with my one gun per month ration, I have managed to acquire 18 additional guns. Maybe I should be spending my money on a moving van.

Tried out the Model 69 with "authentic" .44 Magnum rounds (fire-breathing Remington 180 grain loads)....

    Yes, please.

I'd like to convert mine (92FS) to a G model (decocker only, no safety).

I'm not going to do the g conversion, I have a metal trigger, the d spring, and the skeletonized hammer. I already have the rubber grips, which I will be replacing when I get to special order them, and a third party makes a compensator which replaces the guide rod which I intend to get later.

Broke out the camera, broke out the tripod, and got all of 7 minutes worth of video filmed before the camera ran out of memory. Forgot to take the last vacation vid off the memory card. So just imagine 10 minutes of expert pistol disassembly followed by 30 minutes of swearing as I try to figure out why the trigger isn't fully returning. Turns out you need to bend a paper clip into a hook and get the trigger return spring over the trigger bar to get enough spring tension onto the trigger to get it to fully return:brood:. Put 100 rounds through it, trigger pull is definitely lighter.

Oh, and I looked into the g conversion, the slide has way too many roll pins and detents for my liking.

I would consider doing a video on the 1911, but the lens flair and background noise from the host of angels singing would probably make production tricky. :bergman:

I picked up a Beretta as a project pistol, I plan on building it into a competition handgun. Aside from what I've put into it all ready, I intend to drop in a compensator and a red dot. I want to see if I can build something competitive from a standard piece.

A friend of mine wants to put a red dot on his Glock 19, and I was thinking of doing something similar (just as a have-fun-at-the-range kinda pistol).

Which red dots are you looking at?

At the moment a Burris fast fire 3, as they make a mount for the Beretta.

I bet Farmer's Insurance has "attacked by a herd of elephants" policies. They know a thing or two, because they've seen a thing or two!

.458 Winchester Magnum: when a .30-'06 doesn't seem adequate for your personal protection needs.

I would love to have a new production Garand in .30-06. I have a 1943 Springfield Armory that I picked up from the CMP and while she's still a wonderful rifle, I don't want to really use her a lot.
