I think it's quite naive to belive that financial status doesn't equate with life being more comfortable and enjoyable. So yes, money = happiness.

Money can make me comfortable by giving mke a nice place to live, food on the table, clothes on my back, and the extras of life like cable tv, air conditioning when it's hot outside, new Sama sunglasses when I tire of the old ones, a 65 inch plasma screen tv, and the like. It might make life a little easier and enjoyable, but I don't think that equates to happiness.

Money can't hug me when I've had a bad day or tell me everything will be alright when I get some bad news. It can't substitute spending time playing with my children or help me appreciate a beautiful sunset. It won't move me emotionally or give me a feeling of satisfaction or that I am doing something important with my life.

Having money just makes life a bit easier, but in and of itself won't lead to happiness.

Money doesn't buy happiness, but it sure does make life a lot easier when there's enough food in the pantry and the lights are kept on.

But money, financial stability, does make you more attractive to women, in the sense that they feel more secure pursuing a relationship with a man who can provide for them. And with that relationship comes the emotional support, and the children (unless you're Dan Leach, I suppose).

This sure is dumb. If they see only the money you have made a bad choice in women.

Flashlight might not be familiar with the line...'for richer or poorer'.

Yes, not having the basics would be terribly stressful and depressing.
But I don't see how having a lot of money really helps anyone. Too many rich people have messsed up personal lives.

Because it's written through them like a stick of rock. They're depressed they can't be more like us up here.

Just watch that fly-on-the-wall documentary, Eastenders, if you need more evidence.

money alone can't get you happiness, but it gives a big fucking pair of stilts with which to reach happiness with.

of course, some folk fuck it up by not knowing when to get out of shitsville with their loot.

 they like making the loot, but hate the place.

idea is you stay there for a decade or two, then sell-up and find somewhere more to your liking.

Just a guess, but maybe because the cost of living is so high there that you need alot more money to live comfortably and thus work alot harder?

And anyone who said money doesn't buy happiness is an idiot. Of course it does! The only people who were happy being poor were either delusional or simpletons. Money provides goods and services, and while it may not provide real friends, it sure as hells gives you more shit to do when you're with them.

It's not an inclusive proposition. Unlimited funds would mean I wouldn't have to fucking work anymore but could still buy anything I wanted, but not all forms of happiness can be purchased.

I'm sure that numbers on a sheet of paper can make you happy. Money is good as long as it doesn't corrode your soul and becomes the center of your existence.
