So you've stopped paying attention to Fox News, Brietbart and Donald Trump's Twitter feed?

    Congrats!

    This is quite troubling.

@Zombie hasn't posted in over three weeks.

Doesn't he work as a prison guard in Floriduh?

That pretty much guarantees he has teh COVID. :(

Someday he might actually learn to read his news from multiple sources instead of being mesmerized by the FAUXNews "fair and balanced" bullshit.

Are they still using that as their log-line, I wonder?

Of all of them (excluding teh Baba, who is a law unto himself), I've always had the impression that @Paladin was not only intelligent, but possessed of a conscience. Granted, squashed down under the weight of his portfolio but, unlike George Floyd, still breathing.

Is it possible he's rethinking a few of his long-held opinions? Can we cut him some slack, or not?

If I can find the time, I'd be willing to help. I feel bad that when he moved to SoCal briefly I offered to meet him in person but personal shit got in the way and I never followed up with him. Not that I'm not still in the midst of one clusterfuck after another, but I could find the time somehow. As the saying goes, a mind is a terrible thing to waste. :(

I've been half considering setting you up on a luncheon date with my little sister (f.a.m) who lives in LA and needs a sane friend within the city. Despite having maintained an address there for years, she's usually anywhere but (set dresser) and only has a couple of local(ish) friends.

I agree with you that Paladin is a very smart, educated man. He belies the stereotype of all conservatives being backward, illiterate hicks.

And when you're smart enough, with all that is coming out lately, you can be required to rethink your positions on some things.

So maybe you're right. I would hope so, anyway.

You might have him confused for Dinner. He was a elitist snob who thought conservatives were all Southern Hicks to be scraped off his shoes. Which is hilarious, considering the neighborhood he grew up in here in San Diego banned Jews from buying property there until the 1970s :brood:

I suspect that Dinner's politics are centered around the idea of "Who can I shit on today and not catch a lot of heat for it?" If he embraces a particular view on a topic it's merely because it enables him to shit on others without getting too much heat.

I would never confuse Paladin with Dinner. I know both posters very well. Dinner doesn't hold a candle to Paladin in terms of being able to demonstrate his ideas rationally. Paladin is one of the few posters who are pretty solidly on the right but who have earned my respect intellectually. Dinner never impressed me intellectually.

Seriously, the guy was great with empty rhetoric, but he never struck me as some great debater once he exhausted his bag of tricks.

And I don't recall him displaying any sort of conscience unless he was attempting to weaponize faux moral outrage against his opponents. Otherwise he always rushed to defend all manner of predatory and exploitative behavior.

I have to agree here. Maybe @Paladin is impressive here, but he could not keep up in other places I have been. If I am tldr here, and too much to read paladin would be laughed out of some of the boards I was on for just being a parrot of talking points with no real ability to argue. @Paladin would not even show up on politicalforums where there is not much decent debate either. I have been on some boards where you really need to back your shit up. The people who get skimmed over are the people with small rebuttals that look like they are not worth reading. I have been in places with rating systems and mod approval to get to the better discussion areas.

I have found MSNBC (dems) and CNN did that to me also. I even find I have to get away from TYT some nights because it all just gets too angry and there is no uplifting good to it.
