Well, so, I saw the pilot of this. I think Ron Moore finally found a way to get a show cancelled in less than one season. a.
Yes, the first part featuring the teens wasn't so great (the Lacy Rand character was the best) but how could you not like I loved it. Loved Polly Walker, too. I'll be watching when it goes to series. Bear's score was wonderful.
Mileage varies. What's cheese to some is fromage to others. This is an "extended" version, baba. Thus the boobies.
I think the best part of the pilot for me was that it really didn't contradict the BSG back story in any way at all. It's not what you think, especially concerning Zoe. It's eerie though, and it's pretty fucking tragic
I thought it was pretty good. Definite possibilities. Didn't like all the teenager stuff, I find teenagers about as interesting as... something very dull. But the rest was good, I know Moore was a big fan of the Sopranos, I think we'll see some mafia style stuff going on.
We'll definitely see mafia stuff. They set that up well. However, as far the teenage stuff being boring, I can't quite agree. Not all of it. Especially not Zoe-A. It's fascinating. Was Zoe-A really Zoe? No, I don't think so. She was a copy, a part of Zoe left behind.....which wrought total destruction. Zoe never would have murdered anyone. That's the irony. It's an impulse, a fear of hers that destroyed everything.
It's fucking horrible. Was finally able to watch it right through tonight. Tried watching it last night but my brain put me to sleep as a defense mechanism. Honestly... anyone with a modicum of taste will realize within about the first 30 seconds what a cliched and contrived piece of crap this show is.
I don't do any torrent sites, so I guess I'll be waiting for the DVD to come out. I want the titty version.
They need to get actress who played chani in it to have short sex fling with polly walker's characte.r
I liked it! Spoilers below... Some parts were extremely cliche'd, like the Paki boy who blew himself up on the train, but I like the whole Second Life angle. It's something that has been discussed before in the Red Room. If you copy yourself into the computer, and your body dies, are you truly dead? Seems like this is a show that could last one season, as the premise doesn't look like it could be used for multiple seasons, but I have no idea how long it is suppose to last. As usual, Bear McCreary does an excellent job on the score - some of the most haunting music I've heard on a sci fi show. It caught enough of my interest for me to tune into the show.
Jesus wept. I knew within the first 30 seconds it would suck hard. Ooooh! A goth nightclub! With heavy metal music! And naked chicks! And human sacrifice! Wow, this must be edgy. Wait! What? It's virtual reality? How original. That's never been done before. As a concept, the origin of the Cylons could make a somewhat interesting series. The problem is that BSG has pretty much deep-sixed that idea when it was revealed that the Cylons have been around even before Caprica (i.e., Lords of Kobol, Earth, all this has happened before and all that jazz.) Oh, and BTW, does anyone seriously give a fuck what a 10-year-old Admiral Adama and his daddy were up to back in the day? [action=We Are Borg]waves to Anakin Skywalker[/action]
