Even with that I don't see it as a false one because comic-conventions have been open about banning conservatives and Emerald City Comic-Con would have said this was a fake by now.

PJMedia is a highly biased source with a history of making false claims, so I can't trust it. I did some Googling and the only other sources are similar sites, using PJMedia as their source. It looks specially designed to fit into the narrative that white straight cis males are being persecuted by minorities, which is absurd. The listed mixers seems just for certain groups who may not normally get to meet each other because they are a minority in the comic industry and probably rarely get to meet. There's almost certainly a mixer for all the industry guests, which is something that every convention does. Those are just listed because they're liking trying to attract more guests to attend, using them as an incentive.

I've looked all over and those are the only three industry mixers.

The rest are fan theme stuff.

How are white straight cis men discriminated against by minority groups having mixers? It's for disadvantaged groups to meet up and swap business cards while drinking. Do you feel that white straight cis men aren't being fairly represented in the comic industry despite being the majority of the writers and artists? Are they forbidden from meeting up and swapping business cards?

It's not fake news, it's clearly just as plausible as the one you posted.

It isn't easy to send iMessages to yourself, remove the original messages and carefully edit out who is sending them. It makes perfect sense that a major comic convention would use an iPhone Messages app for all official communication with guests instead of emails or phone calls.

If there was at least one mixer for everyone than there wouldn't be a problem. But this comic-con has decided to exclude one group of people based on their skin color.

And while white men are a majority in the comic industry that doesn't mean they should be barred from seeking opportunities like other people.

What makes you think there isn't a general mixer? Not everything they do is listed on websites? You're basing all of this on a highly biased website pushing an agenda. If they did, it wouldn't let you know that.

You don't have to pay attention to the screenshot. The proof is Emerald City's own website. It lists all the events. All of 428 of them.

Anime/Manga, Books, Comedy, Comics, Community, Cosplay, Diversity & Inclusion, Gaming, Graphic Novels, Kids & Family, Movies, Music, Professional, Toys, TV, and Well-being.

Out of the 428 events there are only three industry mixers. They are the three I mentioned above. There is no general industry mixer. If there was this would be a non-issue.

BizarroEnt is trying to imply that Emerald City doesn't put everything on it's website but I'd have to say they were pretty through in putting everything on their website. So we can infer from the lack of it that there is no General Industry Mixer that is available to everyone.

How do you know how these mixers even work? A lot of these events are private parties that the convention hosts, any group is allowed to have a party. When I go to conventions I go to a lot of parties. Most allow all congoers to attend, some are for specific fan groups or for people who pay extra. No one is being discriminated against if they aren't included. These mixers appear to be small events for very specific groups who may not get to meet each other any other time and are likely privately funded since I doubt the convention is going to pay extra for it. Most conventions basically make enough to pay for themselves and really aren't making a huge profit. Allowing everyone in defeats the entire purpose of these small groups getting to meet and given the limited floorspace, it may be impossible to allow everyone in. There are many variables involved, but you want to boil it down to it being unfair to white men who are the vast majority of the industry and don't face the same obstacles that other groups do. If Marvel had a mixer for Marvel artists and writers, is it unfair for DC artists and writers to not attend?

If Marvel had a mixer for people who wanted to work at Marvel than I'm sure Marvel would not exclude anyone since they would be looking for talent to hire. Same with DC.
