What's a black neighborhood? I live in four bedroom house in a gated community with property values that start in the $300,000's. One of those McMansions if you will. The three houses to my right are owned by two Jamaican families, and a black American family. The guy in front of me is Hatian. Beside him are two black American families. We have some Cubans mixed in but mostly it's west Indians and black Americans in our little gated community. The high school my daughter goes to a few miles down the road is mostly black. All the other surrounding neighborhoods are mostly black. Does our neighborhood count or is your only idea of black neighborhood some poor, crime ridden project?

Yes I stand corrected. I should have phrased the question "why do many blacks catch the first thing smoking out of a high crime neighborhood as soon as they can afford it? And where I live the highest violent crime rates are in black zip codes, the lower crime rates are in the white neighborhoods.

You mean the group of people who where bought and sold as property, abused, mistreated and who continue to be disproportionately targeted by law enforcement, the justice system, financial institutions etc, are also disproportionately residents of low income neighborhoods which also tend to be high crime neighborhoods? Unless maybe you have some other theory why such disparities exist?
