http://www.wsfa.com/Global/story.asp?S=8353148&nav=menu33_2 No word on whether it is terminal, but brain tumors are never good. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery. Let the pre-dancing on the poor guy's grave commence.
Guess it all depends on the prognosis. According to the AP, people with this condition can live anywhere from less than a year to about 5.
Whatever it takes to get him off of Capitol Hill in the shortest amount of time. Resignation, retirement, bodybag, all are perfectly acceptable to me, but Ted needs to go before he does anymore damage to America.
I'm beginning to suspect that you're a necrophiliac, the extent that you wish death upon people. I wonder if comparing attitudes in this thread to those in the Chalton Heston thread will reveal much hypocrisy. I suspect so.
All the folks who are already pouring glasses of celebratory champagne and planning the watch parties for his death - I assume they'll have no problem when I express the same glee over the (hopefully soon) deaths of Bush, Cheney, Rove, Rumsfeld, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Pat Robertson, James Dobson. In fact, I want their deaths to be as long, drawn-out, and agonizingly painful as possible. Reagan died a drooling, pathetic vegetable who couldn't recognize his own wife. If only he could have lingered on a couple more years with aides having to change his diaper and wipe his ass every time he shit himself. Rather fitting in my book. Jerry Falwell didn't suffer nearly enough. Sword cuts both ways people.
What part of I want him off the Hill and I don't care if he walks off or not is unclear? I wish no ill towards him as a person, and certainly not because of his character but because I don't want his family to suffer, but Ted kennedy has hurt the United States tremendously and I want him gone, and if he isn't going to remove himself, I'll take God doing it.
God forbid I should want someone that goes out of his way to destroy the very country and liberties I hold dear, and has done so for the last 45+ years, out of power, either by his own decision, the voters' or God's. I guess I should weep at his misfortune, despite the fact that he is an enemy of liberty and responsibility, that he got away with murder and rape, that he has covered up a rape by his nephew, and that he is just a shitty human being.
Heston's contributions are worth far more than Kennedy's: reams of scary legislation and a drowned secretary.
I said it in the Heston thread, I said it in the thread this weekend about him being taken to the hospital and I'll say it here.... Some people need to develop some class and learn when to keep their mouths shut. Wishing agony and death on people only reveals what an asshole you are.
I'm usually one of the first people to call someone on being a flaming douchebag when someone they don't like is about to croak or has croaked. But this isn't someone who was President for eight years and had been out of office for almost two decades. This isn't some big, bad, scary mean actor that liked guns. This is Ted Fucking Kennedy. Ted Kennedy the unprosecuted murderer. Ted Kennedy the big-government leach. Ted Kenndy the NINE term senator. The Ted Kennedy who would have stayed in power 50 more years fucking us all over if he could.
IMHO...being happy he may soon be out of a position of power is wildly different from being happy he may die soon...Obviously, I'm in the first group.
Good job clipping out the relevant part, dumbfuck. I'll assume the first sentence is as far as you made it.
Actually, I'd think the opposite would be the definition of hypocrisy. i.e. being insincerely sorry over someone you hate.
The definition of a hypocrite is expecting standards of other people that you are not prepared to adhere to yourself. Sokar can waffle on all day about why he doesn't like Kennedy, but everyone has their reasons. Sokar expects others to put theirs aside, something he's not prepared to do. EDIT: 10,000th post! Woohoo!
Wow, a tumor. Bummer. Brain tumors are nutin' nice, my neighbor's son died from them. I wish him well in his retirement.
So? No one is saying pretend to like the man. Just say nothing at all in lieu of being a rotter yourself.
This isn't "I'm happy he has a brain tumor because he's a shitstack" (although he is). This is "I'm happy he has a brain tumor because it means he'll be off the Hill one way or the other". Ted Kennedy is the enemy domestic we were warned about and he needs to be someplace he can't do anymore damage. If he isn't going to leave voluntarily, and if the Massachusetts political machine isn't going to force him to leave, then I'm looking to God to remove Teddy and it looks like God's delivering. This isn't personal; it's political.
