It's also not funny when "the skanky one" isn't in NY and the only daughter it could possibly be was Willow.
Has he ever told a joke about Willow before? Ever? He's made plenty of jokes about Bristol. http://conservativexpress.blogspot.com/2009/03/video-letterman-blasts-bristol-palins.html
That joke may have been handed to him by the writing staff. Everyone know they have people that research these current event type jokes. You know...President visits a brewery or some shit and they come up with jokes for it. Fire the guy who didn't do the proper research. They stopped at 'Palin traveling with daughter to NYC'. For the jokes sake ,it woulda been kinda important to know WHICH daughter.
Sorry, I'm just not buying it. This is some hysterical victim-card nonsense here, and you guys are falling for it.
So? This time he fucked up or was a complete douche...either way he can pay the Piper....who will probably be next at his rate.
It was fucking stupid....there is nothing else to "fall for". Do I think he was encouraging rape...of course not...that is nonsense...but Letterman was a prick for even going there. Target Palin not her kids.
Assuming he was targeting Bristol, she's fair game. She's been putting herself out in the public eye, doing all sorts of interviews. She's as fair game as Chelsea Clinton was last year.
Then he should have made sure it was Bristol at the ballgame with Mom and not Willow, because that it the only daughter who makes the joke make any sense.
Even the NOW hags are attacking Letterman on this. http://www.now.org/issues/media/hall-of-shame/ But they got it wrong with Limbaugh "attacking" Chelsea Clinton. I was watching Rush's TV show that night and he DID NOT call Chelsea the "White House dog". That was a mistake on the part of his staff and he profusely apologized for the mix-up with the still shots. Letterman is a hack anyway. I haven't bothered with late night TV since Carson retired.
Please, explain that "mix-up" in a way that makes any sort of sense. What picture was "supposed" to go up, and why was it supposed to be funny?
Rush was talking about Chlesea and they accidentally put up a picture of a dog. It was a mix up and Rish apologized for it on air and on his radio show the next day. I was watching the show that night when it happened. Naturally, the rabid lefties made as much political hay out of it as they could, which is typical for people of such a minimal mentality.
Reallly? From an old Al Franken book: You know Palin's trying to do the same thing right now, don't you?
Franken needs to die in a fire. He's the last one to condemn anyone for crude jokes. And Letterman is talking about rape/sexual assult. That's light years different than a miscue. But you're irrational hate towards Palin allows you to justify anything, doesn't it? And it ain't just Palin. Even NOW, which has no love for Palin, thinks Letterman is way out of line as well.
Yo, 14thD Assuming everything you/Franken says is true, do you or do you NOT recognize the difference in "profuse apology" from Rush and "half hearted weaselly non-apology from Letterman?
True if he was supposed to be funny. In actuality, he's just supposed to get eyeballs on his show (or rather, the ads).
I can't believe this is a topic in the Red Room. No wonder the boredom quotient is rising. Dear Sarah Palin, Please die in a fire, you stupid bitch.
And the movie channels and the history channels provided that they haven't switched to paid infomercials by that time. On second thought, they are more entertaining than the late night shows are. And I doubt if I will be watching Jay when he comes along on prime time.
haven't folks said something similar about the current president producing something to settle the whole thing once and for all?????????
Ladies and Gentlemen, the tolerance for diversity of the political left, a finer example you will be hard-pressed to find.
I saw Letterman live when I was in NYC on business about two years ago. He came out before the cameras started to roll to "warm up" the audience. All he did was bitch and complain about how tired he was. Some warm up.
