I think you mean "quotation marks" (not parentheses). :walz:

Is that how you grade your student's work? You take the attitude of "I'm the "teacher" and you're not. So I'm right."? Even though you were so far off, it' not even funny?

It's interesting that Dayton assumes that the old lady's bumper was a) impacted and b) structurally sound. For all he knows the bumper had failed before when another Kitchens clan member hit and ran on her.

They're designed to prevent damage to the body of the car up to 1.5 to 2.5 MPH. That's the BODY, not the bumper its self...which can be expensive to replace.

My Camry got rear-ended a few years ago by a guy going no more than 5 mph, and ruined my bumper. It was over $600 to replace.

My truck didn't have a mark on it.

    But thanks for your concern.

By the way, I just remembered that I rear ended another vehicle a few years later in El Dorado.

    Radically different circumstances though.

Anyone want to hear that story.

My wife and I were in our small car (still have it though I've loaned it out to one of my former students who needed a vehicle to get to work) in town and it was raining. Had been raining all morning and the streets were wet. We were approaching a red light where another car (somewhat larger than ours) was stopped. I had my foot on the brake and our car was slowing steadily, but then came the sound of mechanical grinding and the brakes went out almost completely. My brake pedal went nearly to the floor.

We slid steadily into the back of the car in front of us and hit it with some force just as the light turned green.

But the other car took off. Hauling ass, fishtailing as it tore out when the light turned green.

I couldn't understand why he had left. The only possible idea I came up with was that he mistook the jolt from me hitting him as the jolt from his tires catching traction as he floored it.

As for me, I very carefully pulled into the library parking lot and when the rain let up got out to see what I could do. My brake fluid was virtually all gone but I had a can and refilled it. I got the car home and had it worked on a couple of days later.

The other driver could've had a warrant and hauled ass before any police could show up to the accident scene. :bergman:

You deny the mainstream media was supportive of President Obama?

And staunchly opposed to President Bush after the invasion of Iraq in 2003?

They're both arguable, but they're also irrelevant to the preceding fascistic comment comment.

The media can be relatively fair and unbiased without being controlled by the government.

"Fair and unbiased" are subjective judgements. And "bringing them to heel" is not acceptable in a free society.

Sorry, @RickDeckard, but I need to go back to this for just one minute.

@Dayton3, have you ever been rear ended. Even at 5 MPH? It's jolting to a car and any passengers sitting a complete stop. Didn't you say you taught science? If that were true, you'd be, at least peripherally aware of the laws of motion and that when a moving object hits an stationary object ...

And, an old lady at that! Do you realize what damage you could have done to her? - forget her car. You should have been concerned.

You are a liar. You are not a christian and you are not a science teacher.

A piece of paper means nothing.

Somewhere there's a baptismal certifucate for me but I don't claim to be a Christer (though I'm more of one than you are).

You're an unapologetic asshole. That's about as un-Christian as you can get, at least if you understand the religion you claim to follow.

I suspect your Biblical Praxis scores suck just as bad as your other ones do.

By what specifically do you make that claim?

And would you be willing to be treated by a doctor who could not prove they had a medical license?

I've repented of my sins and ask for forgiveness.

How does that make me "unapologetic"?

You shouldn't be such an asshole in the first place.

"Christians" of your ilk think they can act like dickheads all they want as long as they ask your god for forgiveness.

It somehow escapes y'all that the invisible sky daddy doesn't want you to be assholes at all.

IIRC Statute of Limitations has long expired.

Perhaps one of our resident lawyers can enlighten us all on that aspect.

    Sure.

While you may be free and clear from prosecution under your state's statute of limitations one thing that hasn't been time barred is the fact that you're still an asshole, a shitty human being and a fake Christian, "teacher."

One of them showed him a Roman coin, and he asked them whose head and inscription were on it. They answered, "Caesar's," and he responded: "Render therefore unto Caesarthe things which are Caesar's; and unto God the things
