It's Gacey meets Ronald McDonald. As someone who was scared to bawling as a tiny kid by Ronald, it's perfect.
The DCEU is saved! James Gunn is writing (and possibly directing) Suicide Squad 2! https://www.cbr.com/james-gunn-write-direct-suicide-squad-2/
As as can be expected, Bautista wants to go live with his dad after the divorce. https://www.cbr.com/suicide-squad-2-dave-bautista/
And in the "no fucking shit, Sherlock!", portion of the news, DC is moving on from Cavill and Affleck. Batman's being recast younger, and Superman is just going to vanish. https://www.cbr.com/warner-bros-ben-affleck-henry-cavill-recast/ Yeah, let's build our DC universe off Superman, then throw him away! Then let's reboot Happy Days, and kill Fonzie!!
The Adam West batmobile has been seen on the set of "Joker!". So....does this mean Batman exists even though Thomas Wayne is alive? ...is Thomas Batman? ...or does Batman exist as a fictional character in this universe?
What...in...the...actual...f**k? If it's in the film, there's no way it's the film's version of the Batmobile. Perhaps it's something that young Bruce sees and is inspired by.
That's what I meant in my last sentence. That the Adam West show was on in their world, and the car goes to conventions like in our world. So their Batman is a meta-Batman. Which means Joker is meta-Joker.
It's vague now, but I remember in the comics, there was a very early story where Batman learned that his father, Thomas Wayne, once went into action as a Batman-like character. Thomas was actually wearing the costume to a party, and he got abducted by bad guys who worked for Lew Moxon. Thomas went into action as the Batman and got Moxon put away, and Moxon would later hire Joe Chill to kill Thomas in retribution. IIRC, the story was expanded in the early 80s in The Untold Legend of the Batman.
I don't think so, although that's part of the origin usually told in the comics. The best version is in Batman: Year One, where Bruce Wayne is bleeding out after a disastrous first attempt at crimefighting, and the bat gives him the sign he needs to live. In Batman Begins, Bruce has the episode in the cave where he's scared by bats. Then later, when Alfred asks him why he's using a bat motif, Bruce explains that bats frighten him and that he wants to share that fear with criminals.
I could have sworn a bat flew into the mansion in one of the movies, maybe it was the 99s movies. Or maybe the cartoons. I feel like I saw it somewhere other than the comics.
That's Bruce's grandfather, Thaddeus "Batshit" Wayne. He didn't fight crime. He just wore that mask when he was out a-drinkin' and a-whorin'.
I just read that the Wonder Woman sequel is being delayed till 2020. Sucks, that was the only DC movie I’m actually interested in right now.
I think it's good news. They moved it from a winter to a more competitive summer release because they expect it to be good box office. I'm guessing the execs are liking what they're seeing from the production.
Well, I'm pissed. I'm not immortal. I'll need to steal a Timelord's regenerations, or put a Trill Symbiote in my belly to live long enough to see all these fuckin' movies!! Every year they delay one pushes me closer to the fuckin' grave!!
I'm sure you'll make it. And, if not, we'll think of you as we enjoy the movie. Well, probably after we enjoy the movie. Maybe. If we're not busy having dinner or something.
