Welp, there's that amnesty the American people really didn't want, along with millions of new hispanic [read: Democrat] voters.

Why would they? The Demmunists want it for the votes, the Repubicans want it for the profit-padding-cum-corporate kickbacks.

Isn't this just the icing on the cake. Not only do they attend our tax payer funded public schools for free, with free lunches and all that, now they get to go to college on the tax payer dime. If this were not sad and true it would be laughable.

Except it doesn't do that. I am not a big fan of amnesty in general, but I like this. You have kids who came here under no volition of their own, have gone to school here, have shown themselves to be of good character and have either went to two years of a four year university on their own or have served two years in the U.S. military (and they can have their status revoked if they are discharged at any time dishonorably).

Nothing about money for college or anything. These are young adults who did not come here on their own who have shown that they have a commitment to our country, not trying to send money back home. These are young men and women who are willing to lay down their lives for our country. If they are willing to die for our country, they should be allowed a clear path to become citizens.

I would say that if they are serving in our military, it would strongly suggest that their loyalty is to the US of A. Or it will be beaten into them in Basic.

You can already get citizenship by being in the military. You don't need this DREAM ACT to do so. The Democrats are just trying to use the military as cover to get the bill through.

And while I sympathize with kids caught in this situation and would be willing to accept the kid getting the citizenship (without being in the military) I say fuck no until they lock down the fucking borders and stop fucking around.

They sure can! For example I think we gave citizenship to Indians who fought for us in WWII.

    What?

If you're an illegal and you join the military you can apply for citizenship.

That was your question and I gave you a link.

That's all well and good, but the bill in Congress right now puts the burden of proving when that illegal came over on the government. So we're going to hear a whole lot of "si senor, I came here as child. Where my free shit?"

And for that matter, it just expands on the concept of the anchor baby. Now you wouldn't even have to get here while pregnant and deliver your lil' American, you could just bring him with you. And then suddenly it is the eeevil eeeevil Uncle Sam, breaking up families by deporting Jose and Maria and throwing little Jesus in an orphanage.

Fuck. Amnesty for children would create FAR more problems than it would solve.

Sorry, I read the link with the word 'legal immigrant' in mind and it was a program for a path to citizenship for them. I am probably just misreading it then. Point being, I am pro-citizenship for honorable members of our military, no matter if they are illegals or not.

Except this Act has nothing to do with children. It regards adults who were raised here as children. No families are being broken up in the sense you are speaking of.

I think the time has come to change the motto on the Statue of Liberty from this:

"Give us your tired, your poor, your huddled masses."

    To this.

    "CLOSED."

I don't there is enough support even from the necessary Democrats in the Senate. I'm not sure there is enough time for Reid to buy them off like he did with health care.

Do you have any idea how many current adults were raised here? Is there an age threshold?

Between the onus being on the fed and the sheer fucking numbers who fit that description we're easily talking millions.

It's amnesty cut and dried in a blatent backdoor attempt to buy votes for 2012.

I tend to call a spade a spade and that is what I see here.

From everything that I've heard and read about the legislation, the house version has no age thresholds in it, but the Senate version does. The Senate version has no chance of the reaching the Senate floor for a vote though.

Fortunately, even if the house version does reach the Senate floor, Reid hasn't been able to bribe enough of even his fellow Democratic Senators yet to vote in favor of the house of the version.

Slap whatever fancy title on the legislation you'd like. This is yet another attempt by the lame duck House Speaker Pelosi and her fellow Democrats in the house to try and ram amnesty down our throats. It is just another mark on this particular political party to shape the country into their own perverted views.

The almost criminal acts perpetrated by the Democratic Party's leadership in the Congress over the past couple of years is no surprise. The idea that they want to support and show favor towards those who are in the country illegally should be of no surprise. How can any of us expect a law maker who doesn't respect the laws of this country to demand respect for those same laws by others.

I can't tell if BD is saying that's the way he wants it, or that's what he fears it is becoming.
