Second thought: boobs in Skyrim. Argonians; aren't mammals. they don't need 'em. Khajiit; Shouldn't they have 6 or 8?
From the official forum "There's been a small patch to the Creation Kit today. The patch makes the scripts current to the 1.4 Skyrim update."
Got to Whiterun, got into every open house and stole all their gold, killed a member of that whatever-you-call-it important family. Woops But nobody noticed, so that's ok. She had a nice dagger.
I generally don't role-play evil but I do have my moments. My last character, Ragnar (a nord viking with a touch of Conan in him) was an ARDENT supporter of Ulfric and his rebellion. After Whiterun was taken, there was some ass-hat native from the Imperial-friendly family (The Battle-born clan) who walked around in imperial armor, and everytime he saw my char the trash-talk about the stormcloaks would start up. Ragnar tolerated it once, and the next time it happened he drew steel and achieved a one-hit kill with a decapitation cinematic- it was fucking glorious and I wish I could have captured the whole sequence on video. Of course, the guards went ballistic and he simply sheathed his blade and paid the 1040 GP weirgild on the spot, figuring it was worth it. He was married to Olfina Grey-Mane, so he had roots in Whiterun.
I play absolutely evil. The Dark Brotherhood called me after 30 hours of gameplay in Oblivion. I'm hoping the same happens here. I had so much fun with the thieves guild and brotherhood quests! I also play as a sort of battlemage, so I'm not designed to thieve and sneak, but I like pulling it off.
I think to trigger the dark brotherhood in Skyrim you have to talk to the kid who wants to knock off the orphanage matron in Riften- the bartenders can 'rumor' you in the right direction on that one...
Goto Winterhelm.... Enter the city, immediate right, left after the first line of buildings... Listen to the townsfolk talk..... Enter his house.... Sh!t... how do you spoilertag text?
I was patient enough to use a mudcrab as a personal trainer for 20 minutes. Go go leveling everything!
OK.. I'm over 150 hours in and I'm trying to plow through the main story. I've assembled the Blades and we're getting Dragon locations from Esbern and I'm getting shouts that I may have missed while I was just roaming around. The only problem is that Esbern has dispatched us to kill a dragon that I've already killed. So the Blades and I are sitting at this empty dragon site waiting for a dragon to appear. I've used the shout to see if I can call a dragon to the site with no luck. What gives? How do I get past this and move on? Should I just go to White Run and attempt to trap a dragon? Also, I was wondering if it's neccessary to kill Paarthunaxx. Delphine and Esbern won't help me if I don't, but it doesn't seem like I need them. I saved the game right before I killed him and I think I'm going to spare him and see what happens differently or even if it's possible,
I didnt kill Paarthurnax, and still got to reform the blades in Sky Haven temple. Oh ad just for info I'm now level 2 Started again, again. Just about to leave Riverwood for my first trip to Whiterun
You can spare Parthanaunax or slay him. Done both- game progresses both ways. I also posted an inaccuracy earlier on- in order to skip the peace conference in the main quest, you have to have completed the civil war for one side or the other first. Merely having Whiterun change hands with the war ongoing doesn't do the trick.
So what's the back story on Dwarves in Elder Scrolls? Specifically, why aren't there any? I'm sure it's explained in one of the thousands of books scattered around that I only ever open without reading in case they give you skill points.
They got a bit too technological, pissed off the gods and then went 'whoosh', gone. Either they pissed the gods off so much that the gods removed them, or one of the great experiments they were working on worked and they ascended to minor godhood. You got to meet the last living Dwarf in Morrowind Cool little fat guy on mechanical legs. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Disappearance_of_the_Dwarves
Are you on PC? On PC, there's a console cheat to give you quest completion when a quest glitches. There's also a mod that gives you a dialogue option to refuse killing Paarthunaxx without alienating anyone.
Not sure but it sounds like they are vanished/extinct as a race. Obviously they were the 'machine masters' of Tamriel.
I read in one of those books that the Dwemer were another race of Elves that got too smart for themselves, now all that remains of them are their ruins and technology. One of those Dwemer books scattered around Skyrim, I think.
Well... Odahviing was trapped, I went off to Sudafn and Alduin is no more!! I finished off at level 53. I decided to go back to White Run and propose to the aspiring merchant Ysolda. We moved into my BreezeHome house for a day or two before u decided to splurge on the ProudHome Manor in Solitude. I still have a lot of unfinished business with the Dark Brotherhood and Thieves Guild which probably doesn't suit the life of a married man, but what the hell. I'm thinking of a persona for my next character. I'm thinking an Orc Bandit with a curiosity of the arcane arts... Either that or a Dark Elf. I can't wait until some DLC is released. There is a lot of un-utilized space on the map.
What I'd love is a massive mod to port Morrowind and/or Oblivion into the Skyrim engine. I couldn't get into either of the other two games. (I played Oblivion for 20-30 hours but that was it); Oblivion sort of got eclipsed by DAO for me. My latest guy, Redguard warrior/thief, is sort of interesting in that I never spoke with Gerdur in Riverwood after escaping Helgen, or the Jarl of Whiterun, so the main questline never triggered. He gets power words from the walls when he finds them but has no idea what they mean, because there have been no dragons since the beginning at Helgen. He's LVL 32 right now and I'm thinking of kicking off the main quest now that he's the Guildmaster of Thieves and taken care of a lot of other 'bidness.' The fun thing is that this character is sort of as close as I could make him to the main character of one of my early (college years) novel attempts set in a world where fantasy elements and super-science sort of collided. I may have to revisit that world someday.
Did you notice that the guards will say different things based on what your most used magic style is? I wonder if that applies to sneak/no-sneak and combat styles? With this new character, a guard asked me if I could Summon him a bed.
Like I said earlier, someone found out that beyond the 'walls' a very large part of the continent of Tamriel is already modelled within Skyrim, so DLC's might easily be in Morrowind or Cyrodiil. As for porting a whole game, I would imagine the most you could expect would be something like 'Half Life source'. And even that would take a LOT of work.
It does. I get "you're sneaky looking" type comments all the time....when they're not asking me if that's hair growing out of my ears.
