They may not have contracts. Most employees in the U.S. don't.

Staff is choosing Leave and Musk is freaking out.

Scoop: I am hearing far fewer than expected devs hit "yes".

Elon sent out an email relaxing remote working from the former draconian policy.

I'm hearing he is having meetings w top engineers to convince them to stay.

Sounds like playing hardball does not work. Ofc it doesn't.

NEW: Twitter just alerted employees that effective immediately, all office buildings are temporarily closed and badge access is suspended. No details given as to why.

We're hearing this is because Elon Musk and his team are terrified employees are going to sabotage the company. Also, they're still trying to figure out which Twitter workers they need to cut access for.

Offices will reopen on November 21st. In the meantime: "Please continue to comply with company policy by refraining from discussing confidential company information on social media, with the press or elsewhere."

The level of paranoia here is astounding. And it’s all due to his own bad decisions. Impressive

First tweet is a joke. He posted several in the same format for other jobs at Twitter last week.

Good for them. I guess the answer to post 648 was just "inertia". They needed to be given a choice where the default choice was to quit.

If he's actually this incompetent, why have his other companies not gone down the toilet before now? Genuine question.

Well, in Tesla's case, it's gotten heavily subsided by governments due to the green angle. He also makes a lot of cash selling climate vouchers to other companies.

SpaceX is also heavily propped up by government contracts. It, The Boring Company, Neurolink, and OpenAI are all privately held, so they don't have to answer to shareholders about how much money they make (or lose). We have no way of knowing what their operating expenses are, either.

I wonder, though, if SpaceX had a lot of bank loans if those would be listed on the shareholders' reports that the banks publish.

I will do it for a billion dollars a year, payable up front.

If that seems too much, I will settle for a hundred million dollars a month, again payable up front.

Either way I will outperform the current boss by letting the employees know I will stay out of the way and let them just do their jobs.
