It's a shame. It was quite entertaining to drop by one a month or so to just poke him a bit and then retire to watch another month's worth of butthurt where he'd rack up loads of posts crying for attention.

He still maintains that he has no interest in WF, has no desire to come back, got banned as part of one big master troll effort (so the joke's on us) and refuses to acknowledge that the duals he has set up here since he left are evidence of his obsession and grudge with the place. He's also still the perpetual failure he was before, not offering up any more chapters of his book, removing those that were already for sale (thus ripping off people who bought it and were expecting more) and failing to put up a finished version, despite many claims that he will. He still finds time though to post ten thousands words a day online and get drunk while continuing to beg for money on his website. He also now has the audacity to be giving out writing tips despite never having managed to complete a novel. Unquestionably the most pathetic human failure ever associated with the place (although it seems @Tererun is intent on winning his crown).

Strangely, he seems to be paying Facebook to advertise his blog -- a "sponsored" post linking to it showed up in my feed the other day. So he's not just wasting the welfare money on booze.

No. It was an advertisement for his "writer" page, that Facebook thought I should see. My guess is that a few people I am friends with on Facebook like that page, so the add appeared in my feed. One of those "these people like this" things.

But there's nothing on his blog for sale other than those vaping ebooks! Does he not have the common sense to actually finish his novel before paying to advertise himself??

I love ad blocker on my PC but Android makes it almost impossible to install a blockers on their devices. You have to root it which invalidates the warranty and can cause your service provider to dump you because they love the ad revenue.

Yes, albeit it I don't know where the private info rule stands on banned members.

When you look at his blog you get the impression that he expects accolades for fancy (and outdated) headings to his blog posts, rather than worrying about the actual content. Maybe if he put that energy into his writing thinks might be different for him (although, to be honest, I think the reason he hasn't finest his book is that he doesn't have the talent - which is why it's atrocious that he lists himself as "novelist" online).

He should concentrate on compelling short stories, really polish the hell out of a few, then submit them to magazines specializing in that genre. Doing that will build name recognition and a body of published works as well as give him feed back about which sort of stories readers like. He can then expand into the full length novel world and actually stand a chance of getting published.

Granted he will have to up his game and stop trying to pass off first drafts with giant plot holes in them as finished works like he did with My Blood Runs Cold.

Castle's problem is that he can't write. What he posted here was utter garbage. I mean, hell, I don't consider the work of @garamet and other Trek writers to be more than easily read pulp, so when you read something that is infinitely inferior to their work, you know this guy doesn't have a chance at a career as a writer (no offense @garamet - I'm not claiming talent in this field myself - just looking at it as a consumer). So it just find it astounding that the man has the nerve to call himself a novelist. Imagine a hospital porter holding himself out as a surgeon. That's Castle. He should be ashamed.

Right now his writing is not good, I agree. I imagine if he sobered up and really got down to doing it he could improve. He doesn't seem capable of doing that though as it took him years to write a few dozen pages and it read like poorly thought out first draft rubbish.

I expect he is currently smashing whatever he has in his bedsit while he reads this thread. It will take him every ounce of will power that he has, not to start a new thread on TK all about this. He knows the drill, he knows he cant be seen to respond to this directly, and it will be royally pissing him off!

In all seriousness, I don't give two shits about attacking banned members or those that left pissed off, but Castle had more than earned the mockery he's received. I thought his ban was bullshit, but good God. @Goldeneye was an outstanding poster who got banned for dating the board owner's psychotic ex girlfriend and he took it better than Castle.
