What I've been saying for years, Chris Mathews confirms it. Yes, the Democrats want amnesty for votes. They do not care about illegal immigrants.
You do realize, right, that legal residency does not automatically convey citizenship? No, of course you don't realize that. Have you ever taken an IQ test?
Cmon @gul don't be disingenuous. The natural progression would be allowing them to vote. You're not that stupid.
When has anybody ever proposed allowing non-citizens to vote in Federal elections? Name names, post links, or shut the fuck up.
You're being dishonest gul. Once you have legal residency with people working and paying taxes in the U.S. there will inevitably be the calls that if you "pay taxes here then you should get to vote here". We all know that.
So what else would be the point of letting them stay? Mind you, the GOP also tried giving out amnesty while Bush was in the office to court Latino votes.
No taxation without representation! If the government requires you to pay taxes, give me one good reason why you shouldn't have some say in how they're spent.
Which is my point. Once you start paying taxes the path to citizenship and voting rights is inevitable.
Oh really? Alien residency has been a legal concept for decades. Where is the ground swell? Like I said to Lonely Squire, name names, post links, or shut the fuck up.
Rasmussen Reports, May, 2015. Fifty-three percent (53%) of Democrats think tax-paying illegal immigrants should have the right to vote.

You didn't ask about party platform you asked to post links and gturner did. As others pointed out as well as Chris Mathews in the video, amnesty will eventually lead to citizenship which will lead to more Democratic voters. That's why they are pushing so hard for it and against voter ID laws.
You asked for a link showing people approve of it, and he provided it. But, that's not what he was saying anyway. He was saying that giving them legal residency could then give them a legal standing to demand a right to vote or possibly a fast track to citizenship. I personally would like to see them all become citizens and participating in this country instead of hiding in the shadows. For the conservatives against immigrants, the best way to stop them is to help out Mexico. If there were good paying jobs in Mexico, they would stop coming here. Make drugs legal...turn the cartels into corporations...let Mexico tax the fuck out of them...money flows...everyone's happy...and not just because they're stoned.
Which assumes a group mind and not the ability to think for themselves, which is only one of the attitude problems from the other side. Maybe if y'all would stop labeling them rapists and murders, some of them might vote for you.
You're saying that no Democrats just blindly vote for anything the party says? I agree the Right is guilty of this but don't pretend the Left doesn't do the same. People are sheep no matter which color they wish their state was.
Not disagreeing with you, which is why I've always been an independent. But the "Fuck, yeah!" attitude whenever Trump or Giuliani open their traps isn't going to win hearts and minds in the immigrant community.
You're not serious Gul. And no I'm not going to "shut the fuck up" as you suggest because I don't have a handy link to post (something I've never liked about internet discussions though I conform to it from time to time).
Rassmussen is the polling company right wing tards love. It uses push polling to get results it wants and it is an ideological organization. That is why 538 devalues their results to almost nothing in their weighting system where polling companies get rewarded for accuracy.
That's what he's accustomed to. He has a captive audience in the classroom, and a family that either agrees with him or has learned that he'll just bulldoze over them with misdirections until they get bored and walk away. He's already said he only has 3-4 friends, so that kind of speaks for itself.
Because they're [dirty] immigrants. They talk funny. Their food is weird. They have "too many" kids. They're takin' ur jerbs. Don't you know anything?
The GOP remains committed to a losing strategy. For years, demonizing immigrants has been a reliable way to fire up the base. Now it's not working anymore and they don't know how to do anything else. They'd like to keep everybody but middle-aged white males from voting but that's not going to happen either.
Because simply working in a country and having taxes deducted from you paycheck in no way (to me) infers any kind of loyalty or feeling of responsibility for the country you are in. I know a teacher who moved to Philippines for a job at a school there. He lives there legally, and I assume pays any taxes or fees that are applicable. Does that in any way mean he should have the right to vote and determine that countries future? I do not believe so.
