Didn't know your bread was buttered that side, D. But whatever side or indeed jam, marmalade, peanut butter, chocolate spread or yeast extract makes you happy.
So, Smith smacked a black man and when asked to leave by management he said no and they let him stay? They should have given him the best Karen actor award.
It shouldn't have been a... "Please leave, sir " "No " "Okay, sir. ". ...thing. They should have had a couple bouncers, and said "you can leave nice, or leave rough ". If nightclubs can manage it, why can't the Oscars?
No, if they're going to do that, then they should have had Pedro Pascal show up in full Beskar and say "I can bring you in warm, or I can bring you in cold"
Yeah, except the Academy clearly wanted to give as many Oscars to as many BIPOC folks as possible. So of course they're not going to boot Will Smith. I don't say that from a place of bigotry, but as a cooly a cynical sonofabitch who knows that Hollywood has been crapping on women and minorities for decades... so the Academy figures they can slap a band-aid on systemic bigotry by handing out awards to a diverse group for one evening.
Aaaand I'm off to look up BIPOC. Okay, I'd have thought POC covered that well enough, but if you just need to add more and more letters to your acronyms to further pigeonhole and sub-categorize your fellow human beings and confuse us old people, y'all have fun.
Doesn't matter that Will Smith is also BIPOC. Any big name actor who had done the same would not have been booted. But, any lessor known actor would have - regardless of BIPOC category.
I’m just glad I can say “POC” again and people know I mean Proof Of Concept or Point Of Contact. “My POC” was such an awkward thing to say before BIPOC.
BTW tucker you are supposed to say you identify as a BIPED so your racism and other bigotry are clearly obvious.
Mark Manson, my favorite self-help author, finished a book with Will Smith last year. Among other things, it wrote candidly about Smith's struggles with violence and insecurities regarding women, providing a lot of context for what happened at the Oscars.
Fucker is too good for @Forbin going all racist faux news whiny because of BIPOC. Tucker is a fine way to combine right wing asshat and fucker.
That is great and all, and I understand where are some toxic men who feel entitled to settle things with their hands when they lose. I have even been in fistfights over some dumb ass shit. I have never felt entitled enough to go disturbing a fancy civilized event with my crazy. This is not someone losing it on the street when their emotional guard is not up. There should have been a mental barricade against walking up on that stage at that time and interrupting a live performance, and then knowingly on camera assaulting someone during a live national event. You either felt entitled to hit anyone because you are angry, or you were so overcome with rage you cannot be relied on to apply any laws and rules to yourself during the most civil of moments. Chris Rock took that slap and and that moment was so civil he did not even think to defend himself or even get angry. I think he would have responded much worse had it not been the oscars and you are supposed to be in control. How can you act in a movie with Smith at this point if you have to insult him or threaten him as part of the performance? That could be the job. There is no excuse for what he did. If his insecurities make him that volatile he should not be in an industry like acting where people try to get you to lose your cool at events. Someone has blown way too much smug up his ass and maybe he should enjoy his fortune and work on his mental state. I am not trying to be terribly mean as it was just a slap, but if this is where he is at sit back with your family and enjoy your millions because this does no one any good. It was a good run, life is short, and focus on some love.
a) Terorbuns is a humorless twat. She couldn't come up on stage and slap me for a harmless joke, so she sits in her chair and hurls insults. b) I dislike labels. I think subcategorizing human beings by "type" is wrong, that everyone is part of a grand and glorious whole, I grew up with the civil rights movement ("Judge a person by the contents of their character, not by the color of their skin.") and Star Trek ("infinite diversity in infinite combinations brings beauty and meaning to life" (IDIC, baby); but y'all think every single individual "type" of person should be divided into little pigeonholes based on the way they look or think with a big ol' label on their forehead, and continue to expand the labeling with more and more pigeonholes - and somehow that makes me a bigot, but not you?
There are things called history, society, and learned responses that you individually have shown racist and prejudiced behaviors. Did you think just because you took a break from the red room I would forget you were chummy with the with the racists on the board? Maybe you should change your name a bunch to try to get rid of your old associations.
Maybe you should understand "guilt by association" is wrong. I associate with friends of all different persuasions. Just because I don't agree with everything a person believes doesn't mean I shun them. No, I didn't think if I "took a break from the red room I would forget you were chummy with the with the racists on the board?", things like that don't enter my mind. I took a break to get the fuck away from you assholes jumping up my ass for everything I said for a while. Gee, like now. And maybe your perceptions are kinda biased, being such an extremist.
There are limits, though, and racism is fucking one of them. "I get on quite well with Adolf. I mean, I don't agree with all the Jew-gassing, but he's always a laugh to watch movies with on a Saturday..."
