Valar Morghoulis! I've been looking forward to this for months!! Last year, we saw the death of the Starks. Arya is in the clutches of The Hound and Sansa was unwillingly married to Tyrion Lannister. Rickon is now with the Great-John Umber (Did he die in the Red Wedding?) and Bran is North of the wall. Danaerys now has the adoration of hundreds of thousands of slaves that she's freed and the lands to rule as she pleases. Is she still interested in going back to Westeros to fight more wars? The Hound seems to be impressed with Arya and how she killed the Frey soldier that bragged about killing her brother. It'll be interesting to see how their relationship develops. I honestly don't know where this show is going from here, but I'm onboard. 4 hours to go!!
Looks like Dany's boy band reject Fabio has been recasted... http://www.vanityfair.com/vf-hollywood/game-of-thrones-new-daario?mbid=social_twitter
I was wondering why he looked so different. Anyway, good as always. I like Brienne and Jamie together, they really do make a good team, she seems to bring out the good in him. Also, I think "Arya and the Hound" could be it's own spinoff series.
Yes, at this point the only Lannisters I don't like are Cersei and Joffrey. Jamie is much more sympathetic now that his "kingslayer" background is known. The Hound is also one of my favorites.
I still remember being mad at Martin when I realized was going to make me sympathetic to Jaime Lannister. I've accepted it now and he's one of my favorite characters.
Jaime seems to be an honorable man, and just turns into a complete asshat with prolonged exposure to his douchebag family. Also, I don't think "liking" Tywin is a true statement, but he is a good character and is played well. It's just his idiot children and grand child.
That's kind of what I mean when I say I don't know what the series is going to go from here. One of the things that game of thrones does best in show that everyone's the hero of their own story. When the show started out Ned Stark was clearly the hero of this show. But I now wonder what would've happened if it was him instead of Jamie there with the mad King Ares. Would the Hon. Ned have honored his oath and let Ares kill half a million people?
Yeah, can't say that I *like* Tywin. He's a "good" villain type, but I have many moments with him. I mean, SO power-hungry that he'll ruin his kids' lives just to accrue MORE power? Who the fuck does he think will be left around to ENJOY all that power once he's worm-food?
Mine's based off Blu ray special features, so I wouldn't call it a spoiler. It's mostly just speculation on my part, so if anyone knows, I don't want to be spoiled.
Ned Stark was an idiot so yes he would have let Ares kill half a million people. Honor is important but for everything there is an exception. Ned's failure to understand that led to him losing his head.
For those of you who may have been confused about the conversation between Oberon Martell and Tyrion Lannister regarding the fate of his sister, Illya Martell and his niece and nephew, this goes back to Robert's rebellion and the hand Tywin had in his victory. Illya had married Ares' son, Rhaegar Targaryan... And... Well
I for one am shocked, SHOCKED, that our resident Okie's favorite character is a dude who loves to be balls deep in his own sister. Aye, I like him now as well. Good writing....
Agreed, however you were talking about the treatment of his children in terms of preserving his line. I'm just saying that his double-grandson is the only one that matters, all the others are chips to be spent in the best possible way but nothing more.
I'm guessing that theory is: Jon Snow is Robert Baratheon's son and Ned claimed him to protect his sister who was married to Robert at the time? That would make Jon the legitimate heir to the throne? ****This is just something I pulled from head just now, it is based on no spoilers or book reading.
Yes, but he still did it to his wife -- rather than, for instance, telling her what was really going on, seeing as she was one of the few people he could reasonably trust.
