Whatever you gotta tell yourself. *Throws Chaos some baby wipes and some Bounty* Clean yourself, bitch.
I never beat up kids, gays, the mentally retarded or anime fans. Since you're 4 for 4 there, I have no choice but to give you a pass.
Unfortunately, that doesn't cover breach of copyright. It's why there are rules about how much one is allowed to quote in a review...
Unless the link was to the actual book, not just a site where it could be purchased, it wasn't sufficient. The fact that he cited multiple excerpts, not just one, exacerbates the situation. If someone can cite several excerpts, they can as easily quote the entire book. The fact that many of the excerpts were from individuals other than the authors, who did not give Wordforge permission to quote them, is another level of difficulty. Marso gets this. As soon as he was alerted, he asked for the thread to be closed. Why we still discussin' this?
True. But there comes a point where the law's been cited, the explanations have been offered, and IMO, there's nothing further to discuss. Anyone who's got a problem with copyright law isn't going to solve it here. The whole "stealin' stuff off the Internets" thing with music downloads has apparently led folks like markb to think he can just make up the rules as he goes along. It ain't necessarily so.
