yeah, sorry. I've got this annoying habit of being consistent about this sort of thing. Oddly for exactly the reason you state... that any bunch of armed yahoos "defending" a polling station is going to undermine the election in that district.

Also, you might wanna rethink what you're paying for cops for then... Our Supreme Court seems to have upheld a duty to protect. Yet another piece of America that doesn't function, I guess. If we had a polling station threatened the place would have a dozen cops from local, provincial, and likely the goddamned RCMP present.
