    Scene from Glory.

The 54th is marching between two lines of Union soldiers as they head out to assault Ft. Wagner. The music (that incredibly dramatic music) builds up and up and then the one white soldier yells "Give 'em hell, 54th!". Then both lines of soldiers take up the cheer. Awesome moment.

That's what I thought. Pretty much any time that sort of thing happens though. Like when the Russian Alpha gets blowed up by its own torpedo in "The Hunt for Red October" or "Target that explosion and fire!" in the end of ST: VI. :elwood:

I forgot to include one of my favorites in my earlier lists (unfortunately, I couldn't find it on youtube)...

Though the movie was much maligned by the public, Ang Lee's Hulk--which I liked better than this summer's reboot--has one scene that is simply wonderful to me...

The Hulk, on a rampage in San Francisco, is about to be attacked by the army, police, etc. Betty (Jennifer Connelly) contacts her father, General Ross (Sam Elliot), to plead with him to back off, to let the Hulk's rage dissipate, and to let her go to him. We then see helicopters approaching the Hulk, who picks up a piece of concrete to throw at one of the copters when it turns and reveals that Betty is aboard. The Hulk's face softens. The copter sets down and Betty goes to the Hulk, who transforms back into Bruce Banner (Eric Bana, and note the steam and water, giving a hint of where the mass goes) and collapses into her arms.

    Bruce: "You found me."

Betty (ironically, but on the verge of tears): "You weren't that hard to find."

    Bruce: "Yes, I was."

    And they embrace.

It's an absolutely wonderful scene. If you haven't bought into the movie at this point, it probably has little effect. But I did, so it does for me. Not that I hate what happens next, I just wish the movie could've ended at this point because to me it's so perfect.

I suspect someone (probably Paladin) has got this already, but:
    "You've got me!?

    Who's got you?!"

And the scene where Luke is forlornly staring off into the Tatooine sunset as the John Williams music swells.

Oh, and any number of scenes from "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", but I'll go with the "Spock, it's been two hours. Are you ready for us yet?" "Right on schedule, Admiral." "I told you: I don't like to lose." bit, right up to where the get onto the bridge. Zippy dialog, good editing, and a nifty score by Horner. :techman:

The chess scene in the old Thomas Crown Affair comes to mind. Who doesn't love a woman that plays dirty?[IMG]

From the 1948 MGM (and still the best, in my opinion) version of the Dumas classic...

"The Magnificent Seven." The scene that introduces Yul Brynner and Steve McQueen.

"Aw, Hell. If that's all you're waiting for, I'll drive the rig."
    ...
    "Borrow your scattergun?"
    ...
"That window--curtain moved." "You got a shot?" "Let him stick his neck out." *BANG!* *BANG!* "You get elected?" "Nope. Got nominated real good though."
    :elwood:

AND the scene in "Fistful of Dollars", where Eastwood flips aside the poncho after being shot repeatedly.

OK. One I haven't seen. But "Hunt for Red October" is on. I've got to see "Judgement at Nuremberg". If both "Hunt" and "Star Trek VI" ripped off the translation scene, the movie's gotta be worth seeing. :elwood:

Isn't a young pre-Trek William Shatner part of the Allied prosecution team in that?

A Fish Called Wanda, almost the entire movie. In particular, the final confrontation between Cleese, Kline, and Palin through and outside the airport.

Although not by any stretch a great movie, 1981's 'The Legend of the Lone Ranger' has a scene I just love...

As the balladeer (Merle Haggard) sings about him holding out hope for rescue, a stoic Tonto is taken by a mob out of a jail onto a scaffold to be hanged and the rope is placed around his neck and the executioner's hand is on the lever and...

BANG! (*cue the William Tell overture*) The lever shatters! BANG! The rope holding Tonto's neck is cut. And Tonto turns, looking toward the direction of the shots and--for just a second--his stoicism drops and he smiles as if to say "Yeah, I knew he would come"...we see the Lone Ranger riding into town at full gallop guns blazing, shooting the pistols out of the lynch mob's hands, and Tonto jumps off the scaffold onto the back of Silver and they go charging off...

Don't have the actual clip, but most of it occurs at the 1:00 mark in the following...

No, not a great film, but one I really enjoyed as a kid. They just released it on DVD and my copy is already on the way...
